I can't seem to upload any pictures (or any other files) to this forum.  At the Files area it says: "Either the feature is disabled or you do not have sufficient permission."  I can't embed or copy images to my posts at all.

Can someone please help?

With Love
Joe

Hi Joe. Re: Uploading pictures. When you get to the window to insert picture and click on the little mountain, a message comes up in the top right that says something like you do not have sufficient permission, click on that, and then another message comes up that says, temporarily allow something... click there and then go back to the little mountanin and insert, just preview your post to make sure the picture is there, sometimes it can be tricky, by showing the picture in the first window and not the preview.
For some reason I cannot upload my own personal file pictures, but others I can.

Joe,
Here's some advice from me.

First, make sure you are logged in to the site or you will not have permission.

Second, some pictures simply will not load for whatever reason. Either the person who took the picture has prevented this or something else like it is in a different format than your computer (it's a MAC and your computer isn't) or whatever.

Third, once you see the picture you want to copy, slow down and give it time to completely load. Just because you can see the photo does not mean it is loaded up enough to copy.

Fourth, once you right click and have clicked Copy you have the photo. Now when you go to right click and post the photo, it may take a while for the photo to show up on your post. Depending on the size of the file for the photo, this can take longer than you think.

Five, even if you have done all the above correctly, sometimes the photo still won't load. Try hitting the right arrow several times. Once in a while, you will need to click Enter to get the photo to come up.

Six, once you load the photo you may decide you want to change the wording above or below. This is when you click the edit button in the upper right hand corner of the post next to the Forward button. Make whatever changes you want and then click OK and it will post the newer version. This is a good way to prevent typos and misspellings if you want. It's also good when you think you'd like to add another thought or something.

Seven, I always check on the photo in a little bit. Sometimes it just decides to vanish for some reason. Once it disappears like that, there is a solution that works some times for me. If you copy a photo and this happens, you can get the photo that appears on the Google search and hit the button to See the Full Size Image. Many times this image will post where the same photo inside a web page will not.

Eight, some photos are just huge and will be difficult. If you have a choice between a smaller or larger size, I always choose the smaller size.

Nine, if you get stuck and cannot get a photo to load, send me a link to where you found it and I'll be glad to try and help.

Thankful one

Thanks for the help.

BUT

I don't have a problem if the pic is on a website, I just put the URL into the box (I've done this successfully).  It's my own images (and other files) I can't upload.  I tried copying them and pasting into the message, but it didn't work (got the message "Forbidden URL").  I wondered if it was just me, or if that's the way it is on this forum.

I found the answer!  I uploaded a pic into Photobucket, and used that URL.  Worked a treat.
For instance

Great photo of the flower. Thanks for sharing it. Is it Australian?

Also glad you figured out to get a photo posted.

Thankful one
