Candle lit for those who are troubled, depressed or feel they don't "fit in" during this holiday season.  Let us remember to enjoy this season with moderation.  SAD is the group name for this candle.  Blessings to you all.

Hi Jennifer, this is a nice thought, this season can be a very difficult time. I will light a candle for your group tomorrow.

Welcome! This is a great idea. I'll be lighting candles there.

Maybe those who find the holidays a difficult time would like to 'meet' here at an agreed time eg 4pm on 24 / 25 / 26 December to light a candle together ?

Oh, what a lovely idea, Grace! A prayer circle in "real time". What time zone are we talking about? Or is it possible to pick a time that might be more workable for more areas?

Yes, we should find the most practical time - maybe you can suggest what works best - sorry not to think about this.

I thought that the late afternoon is an easy time to feel tired low or exasperated, whether you've by then had most of the day by yourself, or you're tired from family conflicts or entertaining many visitors.

Please let me know of the appointed time so I can join in on this wonderful idea. Thank you Jennifer.

please see my post on grateful_groupies at yahoogroups.  maybe it will help organize something like this.

Just as a default position - so that this doesn't fall by the wayside - I'm going to suggest that UNLESS SOMETHING DIFFERENT IS POSTED OR AGREED -  4pm GMT; this will by my reckoning be 8am PST, 11am on the east coast and 5pm in Europe (do correct me on this).

Blessings to you all.

I aim to light a candle for this gorup every 48 hours.

Thank you for such a wonderful Idea. I lost my father in Feb of 82 at the age of 48, then my sister was murdered in Oct of 85 at the tender age of 15, then my brothers baby died, and then my son was murdered in April of 03 at the age of 17, so much loss, and so little spirit left for this world...I wish the time would stop, stop the world I want to get off! I can't stand the holidays anymore! There is so much to lose and so much to live for, I have an older son age 23 and a grandson by him age 16 months. I don't get to see my grandson, so My son and I just sit together on holidays and we don't even celebrate anymore. We feel there is nothing left to celebrate. Until we can get Baby Matt back again, we won't be having any holidays. To be able to visit with him on Christmas would be such a blessing! Thank you for this candle lighting efforrt. May God be with you all!

Good idea, Grace, and if I can't get to my computer then, I can always pause and send out a prayer. Thanks!
