Some say the moon is made of green cheese.
We see a man in the moon, japanese see a rabbit pounding Mochi.
Whatever, your perspective,  we all agree it is a beautiful sight.
Last night I saw the reds and oranges of it's reflected beauty
and I slept well

Thank you for the pictures, Richard!
I did not go outside to see the total lunar eclipse last night, it was too cold for me! I slept well all the same imagining it!

Hello Richard. The pictures you have shared with us of the moon are beautiful.

I often go to several sites a friend had referred me to, to view the moon, the stars, and the planets. I find them very interesting.

http://astronomy.customer.netspace.net.au/astronomylive.htm  (Live Camera broadcasts of the moon, Astronomy Live)

http://hubblesite.org/ (a NASA site)

The wonder of Creation of our planet and above us! Breathtaking!!!

Richard, thank you for the pictures!  I was so disappointed not to be able to see the moon because of the clouds.  I had been looking forward to it.  Nothing makes me feel connected to infinity like watching the stars, the moon, and the planets.  During my retreat I got up about 5:30 every morning to go out and stargaze.  Venus was very bright in the morning then, and the reflections on the lake were breathtaking.

Richard, thank you for the pictures of the moon. Moon, stars, sun are such a gift to me in terms of loved ones far away. They always remind me that it is the same moon, stars, etc seen by the one far away. Thinking about that, the distance seems not quite so far and they "feel" much closer.

Marie, thank you for the websites. The Hubble site has some absolutely gorgeous pictures on it that one can just sink into.

Lori, I just can't pass this up after reading your post.

Have you thought about scheduling one for later this year? It's so easy for time to just fly by and then it doesn't happen. It is also something very special to have on your calendar and to know that quiet time will come once again. I am pleased you have a free weekend.

Edda,blessings on your prayer group.

Blessings to all on your weekend.

Edda;  perhaps you did it right.  Imagination is sometimes a better way to go. Especially when it avoids freezing weather. Like when my mother first saw Niagara falls, she remarked, " It looks very much like the pictures."

Marie; Thanks for the websites, i've booked marked them and will keep an eye on them.  Also, thanks for the Einstein url.

Lori;  I too, am glad to realize I am not alone.

Betty;  The stars have been old friends of mine for over sixty years, From watching the constellations I was introduced to by my mother on crystal clear winter evenings back in the forties to the navigation aids taught to me by an old sea captain when I was a sea cadet; I always feel closeness when gazing at the stars.

Barbara;  I'm glad you enjoy them.  The quote of course, is from St. Therese.

Like I told you all last week I just cut and paste this stuff, LOL.
