Dear Debbie, all the candles are burning, for Joel's safety, for Jason that he may come closer to home, for David, for Shannon and the children. It will be good for all of you to be together. I hope you hear from Joel soon!
With love and prayers,
Edda

Edda,
Thank you for taking care of my every prayer!  We heard from Joel today.  Shannon & the kids spoke w/him for a long while.  Me- I missed his call! I've cried all day.  He called me on my cell phone @ work & my boss makes us keep them on vibration ring.  I missed his call, because I couldn't hear the vibration w/all the noise in the office!  My phone is now on ring status.  I'm so thankful he called; spoke w/his family & he's ok!  That's the only thing that matters.  My prayer has been answer - he's ok!
Thanking all of you for your prayers.........
Debbie

Dear Debbie, I am so glad you heard from Joel, even though you didn't get to talk to him. I know how it feels, when you are anxious to talk to someone dear to you and then you miss the call! He will call you again! At least you know he is safe!
With much love and prayers,
Edda

Dear Debbie,

First of all, I am so pleased that Joel has been in contact, I am also sad for you that you missed his call.  One thing for sure, whilst he was ringing your phone, you were in his heart and mind.

God Bless

Love

Mary

I'm new and was just reading through this post. So good to hear some good news and how prayers brought comfort! Adding Joel to my prayers and all those far away from home. Asking God to grant peace for all of us and bring our troops home safe.

Lynn -> RE: MY SON JOEL (6/14/2007 2:49:56 PM)

Deb, I was so glad to hear that Joel called. You know you were in his heart and on his mind, thinking of you always. Prayers for his safe return. I hope Robby is by his side taking care of him. Love to your family. Lynn

Asking for prayers of Strength; hope & faith.  Joel has let me know that a young solider in his unit took his life.  The pressure & depression on these soliders is unbearable.
I sent Joel a rosary - he told me it was working, because he was to go to a check point & his hummer broke down.  They sent another unit & they hit a road bomb.  Some of the stories he's has vented are unbelieveable.
Please pray for these men & women who want to come home to their families. Pray for PEACE.

Lynn -> RE: MY SON JOEL (6/30/2007 9:36:41 AM)

Dear Lord bring Joel home safe to his family. Thank you.

I am new to this message board but am so sad to see what you are going through.
I have been lighting candles for Joel under his group as well as Iraq.
I will add Joel and you to my pray list.
Please don't give up hope this madness has to stop soon.
Take care

Slow Dance

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down,
Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won’t last.
do you run through each day
On the fly.
When you ask “How are you?”
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You’d better slow down
Don’t dance so fast.
Time is short,
The music won’t last.
Ever told your child,
“We’ll do it tomorrow?”
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die,
Cause you never had time
To call and say, “Hi”.
You’d better slow down,
Don’t dance so fast,
Time is short,
The music won’t Last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere,
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift.......
Thrown away.
Do take it slower,
Hear the music
Before the song is over.
A seventeen year old girl w/cancer wrote this poem .....

Our lives are quick - I miss my sons & I pray the Lord will bring them both home safely.  I pray all will be home soon.

Hildegard -> RE: MY SON JOEL (7/27/2007 9:53:24 PM)

Thank you, Debbie, for this poem! It is a great reminder to live each day fully, not postponing the good things that can be done "now". None of us know how many days will be given us. What a shame to waste this gift!
Love, Edda
