You're so right - I'm OK you're OK, God bless us all! Amen, verily, verily, ad infinitum...

You are so insulting who gives you the right to insult people. You come on with your big words does that make you a better person. You will never know how much you have upset me and annoyed me with your remarks. I expect to be seen as a second class citizen where I live because of my illness but I never expected to get it on here and I hadn't till I stupidly replied to your post which I now wish I hadn't. You have made me so angry more than you can imagine. I have never felt so judged on here before and I'm just sorry I ever came on here

Dearest Sharon,

My heart goes out to your hurt and upset. Please, don't let one person's posts outweigh all the others, as I said before. We all feel for you, support you and don't judge you. I hope you don't regret coming to this forum to begin with, only to this thread. Can you find it in your heart to let go of this and move on to all the beautiful posts by Thankful one, the humorous ones by Marie and all the other loving and caring posts you find?

Let this week be a fresh beginning, a spring of the heart!

Much love and warm hugs,
Edda

Dear Sharon,
I do so agree with Edda. It's such a pity that one person can upset you like this.

I'm so proud of you for coming on here and giving as good as you got. (although I'm still not sure it was directed at you) It shows what courage and spirit you have.

Don't EXPECT to be seen as a second class citizen.....or anything else negative for that matter. No-one here thinks that of you, as don't (probably) lots of others who you think do. When we are feeling low our self-esteem gets lost somewhere, and we can imagine others are looking down on us, when in fact it is often our perception rather than the truth. You are hard on yourself for being ill and comforting yourself with drink, but we see a different Sharon, who is very caring, and just a bit lost at the moment.

One of my favourite quotes is from the Bible. "Judge not, lest you be judged also."

You are a valuable member of society. Start believing it.........not someone who doesn't even know you.

Love Jude

As always, the goal is to become more and more human, evermore universal, closer and closer to the model of human nature - i.e., inner-directed, self-actualizing in tune with spirit, the nous of the world. Towards becoming more responsible and stabler, yes, in peace - love - harmony, encompassing ever-enlarging circles...

The spiritual benefits of meditation centre around a deepening awareness of the self as an inner enduring essence, and of our relationship to the source of the numinous (religious awe) forces that create and sustain all life: a source both immanent (within ourselves) and transcendent (above and beyond ourselves). Over the centuries various attempts have been made to describe this source.

Practical instructions on meditation, in language that is easy to understand even for a non-native speaker of English like me, have been given in several posts by Alchemist on "Grief and Gratefulness", meditation-thread, p.1, on 1/7/08.
Alchemist has also posted beautiful meditation texts on "Inspiring Quotes", from which I have since greatly benefited.

Sharon

Jude is right that you are a valuable member of society. But you are even more than that. I would like to share a prayer with you.

THE SILENT PRAYER

~ from Tobias as channeled by Geoffrey Hoppe

In my heart, I accept my perfect Being.
I accept that the joy that I have intended is already in my life.
I accept that the love I have prayed for is already within me.
I accept that the peace I have asked for is already my reality.
I accept that the abundance I have sought already fills my life.

In my truth, I accept my perfect Being.
I take responsibility for my own creations,
And all things that are within my life.
I acknowledge the power of Spirit that is within me,
And know that all things are as they should be.

In my wisdom, I accept my perfect Being.
My lessons have been carefully chosen by my Self,
And now I walk through them in full experience.
My path takes me on a sacred journey with divine purpose.
My experiences become part of All That Is.

In my knowingness, I accept my perfect Being.
In this moment, I sit in my golden chair
And know that I Am an angel of light.
I look upon the golden tray - the gift of Spirit -
And know that all of my desires already have been fulfilled.

In love for my Self, I accept my perfect Being.
I cast no judgment or burdens upon my Self.
I accept that everything in my past was given in love.
I accept that everything in this moment comes from love.

I accept that everything in my future will result in greater love.
In my Being, I accept my perfection.
And so it is.

In the very act of meditation, the Truth meditated upon grows into one's being...One becomes what he meditates upon...Thus meditation on an object of adoration like God, induces a flow of thoughts and ideas which fill and bathe the being in vibrations of devotion and love and prepare it for a conversion into a God-child, God-lover or a God-servitor...Concentration of this kind is also a sure means to withdraw the consciousness from the surface being to its deeper levels which are intimately attained in the culminating stages of Contemplation passing into Samadhi.
