Today I am grateful for an unusual angel in my life today.

I was sitting at home working on my computer. (Okay, so I was actually playing solitaire for ten minutes and being lazy, but it was the first time this month I had been this lazy).

Anyway, I was thinking about all the many different work items around the house that I really needed to be doing. Each one of these chores would take days to accomplish and I was willing to put them off.

I had managed to successfully put these chores off for many months. I mean, I had started several of them only to realize how much it would take to truly finish the tasks. 

These chores had something to do with spring cleaning and getting the outside of the property looking like it should, not how it actually really does look. It honestly really does not look good with all the multitude of stuff that had accumulated.

I had been regularly praying that I could find time and the energy in my life to tackle these time consuming chores. I prayed that somehow a way would be found so that I could continue all the projects I was working on and also complete these not so fun and emotionally challenging/draining chores.

Suddenly an angel appeared. The angel did not look like an angel in the traditional sense. He had coarse dirty working man's hands and smelled like a man who needed a good shower. He talked loudly and used words I don't think angels use.

He told me he was out of work and needed to earn some money due to a run of bad luck. He told me that I had helped him out in the past several times when he was at his lowest. He asked if I could help him just once more. I listened.

He asked me if he could do all the many chores I needed to be done. He said he would be able to do all the clean up I needed done in the next few weeks. He said he had figured out some people who would pay him to take away the items in my yard. We struck a verbal deal and he was thrilled. He said he'll start first thing in the morning.

As I went back into my house, I realized that a true angel had come and answered my prayers. I think many times angels do visit us but that we don't realize it because they don't look like angels. I wonder if others have also had visits of "unusual angels" in their lives.

T.O. what a lovely story! I really hope the angel comes and helps you with all those chores.

I really recognize your procrastination, (being the Queen of it[:D]) and I understand why you felt unable to do the jobs. I get like that a lot. I think, when we feel like that, it really helps when someone offers to lend a hand. I've put things off for so long I feel overwhelmed at the thought of doing them.

Some time ago Betty founded the club of procrastinators [;)], and I joined as one of the first members! Welcome to the two of you! Believe it or not: today an angel has appeared in my house, too, and she will help me sort out papers tomorrow, which I am unable to do by myself! You have put it so well, Jude - the very thought of doing them puts me off. It is so comforting to be in the company of people who have the same problem.  Of course we can always use the excuse of having to be in the Forum instead of doing boring jobs...

I too procrastinate and have put off organizing my office to do web design etc...yesterday I had a friend volunteer to help me but my cousin was coming to have a dance coaching session and I needed to use the office floor to play the computer wow did I find places to hide paper.....and lots of it...music and dance became the catalyst to instill order???? seriously tomorrow I have a volunteer coming and with her hlp we will place the piles in order to gain more dance space.....angels come in many sizes and types...T.O. I did not know playng solitaire on the computer is being lazy then my hubby and I are very lazy at times he plays for hours I get tired wacthing him have you tried bookworm another addicting sort of game. Well Im off to my first Drum Circle I cannot wait have tried to have my schwedule open to do this for years so hapy it is now

Hello Gratitude Family
today I am grateful for finding the Drum Circle and meeting many new spiritual others. It was so wonderful from 7:00pm to 7:30pm we just drum on all types of Native american, Bongo and assorted Rythmn instruments many home made by craftsman. Then after all arrive we continue drumming as the facilitator who speaks Native American performs a Sgae Blessing and then we blow on the Sage stick 3 times to let go of what we want to....followed by more drumming and it by now 8:30pm becomes almost hypnotic, then we lay on yoga mats as the others drum over us a all points from head to feet followed by we in turn drumming ove others who drummed for us..this all winds into a 30 minute relaxation as the facilitator continues to drum....I envisioned a white bright light all aroud the outline of my body or my aura and I was very relaxed and easily meditative....After that we all had time to process with each other as we drank tea and had pound cake...it was beautiful and I really felt spiritually at one with my Native American heritage. I was in bed sleeping like a baby when Joe came home this morning he said "I ve never seen you asleep so early and you were soundly asleep" so  I guess I was relaxed. I highly recommend a Native american Drum circle for those who do not mind  percussion sounds for 2 hours continually...I've enjoyed all the posts on angels, love and gratitude I was busy preparng a presentation to give to a group of ingl mothers this evening. They were very appreciative and each hugged me as I closed the evening I was so moved as they opned their group with prayer that does not happen often here in a community center not church affiliated.

I noticed that you are a Canadian.

I have a couple of questions for you to find out of you are a REAL Canadian.

1. How many points are there on the maple leaf on the Canadian flag?

2. How did they ever get the name Canada?

Just to reiterate about my "unusual angel", he did come by and work for half a day today.

He was able to make a huge mess of my yard.

Stuff was everywhere. I mean all over everywhere in the yard. It was like the Cat in the Hat.

He did, however, ask me if he could use my washing machine.

He proceeded to start but not finish his laundry so I got the opportunity to do it for him.

I am so appreciative of his work that I was happy to do his laundry!

T.O. Yes, this is a not uncommon sight here too, although it's more likely to be someone riding his bike, which I suppose isn't so lazy. I have seen people sit in their car while the dog runs off and does his thing. Not only lazy, but irresponsible.

I'm glad you are cultivating being lazy[:D] Makes me feel less guilty.

Do I hear a little note of unease about your 'angel'? I hope he clears up[;)] I'm sure he appreciates having his laundry done.

Thankful One, to answer your questions the maple leaf on the Canadian flag has 11 points.  The name "Canada" is derived from a Native Indian word "Kanata" meaning village.

Sometimes things need to get more disorganized before they become organized. Good luck with your angel.

The story I heard about Canada's name is a little different...

I heard that representatives of all the Canadian's provinces got together to try and agree on a name.

As to be suspected, The French insisted that it be a French name.

The Inuits, or Eskimos, insisted that it be a Native name.

The Nufies (from Newfoundland) wanted to use a name that was considered crazy by the rest of the group.

They continued arguing on into the long night but no agreement was reached.

Finally, the representatives from each of the provinces all agreed to put all the letters in the alphabet together and take turns drawings letters out until they thought they had enough letters to make a long enough name for their country.

The first person drew out the letter "C".

All the Canadians said "Eh?".

The next letter they drew out was an "N".

All the Canadians said "Eh?".

The next letter they drew out was a "D".

All the Canadians said "Eh?".

That's how they ended up with "C" "Eh?" "N" "Eh?" "D" "Eh?"
