Hildegard -> A Candle for Randy Pausch (7/25/2008 6:49:42 PM)

Randy Pausch died today of pancreatic cancer. Many of us watched the video of his "Last Lecture", which was about living not dying.

I am lighting a candle in the group already started, "Randy"

Please, light a candle for him. His life was a gift to many!

Edda

I too lit a candle for Randy who was very courageous in his attempts to pass on wisdom.

A life that affects others in positive ways is a life worth living however short.  Candle lit for Mr. Pausch.

Dear Jude,

You can meet Randy Pausch via the video of 4/2/08 posted by joeharmony on p.6 of "Videos which are uplifting". Since watching it, I have often thought of him and his wonderful message.

Love,
Juliana

Dear Juliana,
thank you for that. I have just watched the video and will try to watch some more from him after lunch. He is indeed inspirational. I was interested to see it was on the Oprah show, as we sometimes get repeat showings of this show in the UK. I miss the great guests of the show like this man.

My prayers go out to his wife and children. As they get older, all the videos of their dad will be a very special gift for them. Perhaps Randy had so much impact on so very many people because his writings truly fell under the quote "Of all that is written, I love only what a person has written with his own blood.~ Friedrich Nietzsche" Along with Tuesdays with Morrie, Randy challenges us not just in our concepts about death but in our concepts of how to live life. May his family truly sense his loving care surrounding them and may his joy of life enfold them.

Having just watched the whole lecture, and seen his beautiful wife, my thoughts go to her and his children at this time. They have a wonderful legacy, don't they?

I loved what he said at the end of the lecture, that the lecture wasn't really about realizing our dreams, but about how to live our lives.

I too was very moved by "Tuesdays with Morrie." He was another "world changer."

When I heard Randy Pausch speak I truly felt God had given him the mission of teaching us that to live is to transition to a spiritual home and how we embrace the experience is important. I sent prayers for his family as how could you not miss this man and his spirit I just felt heaven when he spoke
