In the East, for instance, avidya or nescience is the state of Ignorance or being utterly unaware of who we are - where we're going - what it's all about! Awakening, in a word, fills the emptiness and the world moves from samsara, simple, everyday consciousness, to nirvana from everlasting to Everlasting.
The Tenth Insight: Holding the Vision, James Redfield's bestseller which further elucidated on his Celestine Prophecy, that deals with the first nine Insights or prophecies based on a secret manuscript which are like chakras or energy centers spiraling upward as a force or grace reenergizing, renewing gross matter to subtlety.
On getting to the culmination or denouement of The Tenth Insight, sequel to The Celestine Prophecy, which deals with oppositional, contending, clashing forces that are clamoring for closure, for unitive consciousness... In this reconciliation or unification process, finally, an Integral Transformation is realized! This unwavering vision, however, must be held steadfast, i.e., holding the Vision or further adventures of the 1st nine prophecies.
Apparently the World Vision has to be aligned with the Birth Vision...This, too, has many parallels with reincarnation or how each entity selects his karmic experiences which s/he chooses. In the workings life becomes meaningful and purposeful and continuous.
Visualization techniques are like prayer and it greatly helps in shaping the future. Remembrance or anamnesis is comparable to what the Zen masters mean when they say we should recall whom we were before we were born and, consequently, who we ultimately expect to become. I.e., remembrance of Self, samadhi, satori.
The integrative, holistic World Vision is a consciousness that is endeavoring to go beyond itself and grasp the totality or cosmic plan (Akashic Records) in its fullness. This Vision if integrated effectively serves to reverse the deadening, stultifying structures which are the source of our most serious, inhumane problems. In other words, the societal structures that dehumanize, desacralize - and these, above all else, need to be changed, transformed.
Ergo, to change is not easy, although all people, all nations, no matter how far estranged from higher meaning and values, all can eventually gravitate through nature - wisdom - final happiness...and, truly, regardless of how dimly or unwittingly everything may be, there is still cosmic consciousness awaiting.
Everything, indeed, is evolving, of gaining higher and higher levels of consciousness and being, and like a spiral, is developing, burgeoning upwards toward unitive wholeness... In this evolutive unfolding, Sac-cit-ananda (Being- consciousness-bliss), an integral fullness is realized as the crowning epitome of reason and human excellence.
In Self-actualization, too, the seeker-peaker or transcendent self-actualizing person, analogously, is following the Call all the way. This is no easy process because there are so many obstacles and sacrifices and enduring strivings for each upward ascent along the arduous, thorny way.
Opening-up the chakras is like the nine Insights (Redfield's Celestine Prophecy), a necessary prerequisite, before the Tenth Insight: Holding the Vision can be consummated - opening up of the crown chakra. In this momentous experiential attainment, a Supramental Force, Christ-Omega, Grace (Sri Aurobindo, Teilhard, Christianity, respectively) is brought down into the depths of being with full communion. The crowning glory!
Thus, a discriminating consciousness as in Bloom's Taxonomy of cognitive learning or development is the key, the essence, as in the higher thinking/creative levels: analysis - synthesis - evaluation - an evermore discriminating consciousness...
