Thank you, Emil! Forgiveness is difficult. I don't think it is a matter of forgetting, rather of being no longer under the control of those who hurt us. Whatever happened to us is part of our history, part of our formation. Certainly, there are those everyday hurts that are forgotten with time, if we don't dwell on them. For myself, I have observed that most hurts I experienced were not intentional. The worst ones came out of a conviction that what was done to me was in my best interest. It does not take the pain away, but actually there is nothing to forgive. For those who were abused it is another story; they need all the love and support we can offer. With every good wish, Edda
