Deaer Joanne, thank you! Leon is supposed to be moved to the Rehabilitation Unit to learn how to get in and out of a wheelchair without putting any weight on his right leg. He has 7  - 10 days. I hope that he will develop the strength to do it. He then could be at home (with all sorts of adjustments in the house) until his hip socket has healed and surgery can be contemplated - about 2 months.
I so very much appreciate everyone's prayers and candles and hope the plan works.
Love,  Edda

Edda, I hope/pray Leon is trying very hard to accomplish therpy & walk w/the walker.  Hopefully he will be home soon.  I know it's hard taking care of one's husband.  I pray you'll both be home soon & get back to your everyday norm.  Lord be w/you.

Hi Edda: Came to the thread to check on Leon's latest. I'm glad he seems to be headed in the right direction. With God's help, I hope everything can go back to normal, or as normal as it possibly can. My prayers are with you.

Praying that your husband may make a full recovery. That you will have the strength to comfort him and tend to him in this difficult time.

We are grateful for all the candles burning for Leon. His physical therapist wants him to burn in another way that is in his muscles, so they grow stronger. He is working very hard at it. We hope he reaches the goal of being able to transfer himself using only one leg.
With thanks to all,  Edda

Dear Edda: If I may ask, how's Leon doing? Just wondering if he's been able to keep up with the therapy. I know it's not easy for him.

Also I wanted to tell you that you asked (I'm quite sure it was you) for prayers for your Aunt Hilda who's got cancer and said there was a group 'Hilda' our there, but I never found it. Was that in fact your aunt, or did I pick it up somewhere else?

Hope you have a lovely Sunday.

Emil

Dear Emil, thank you for asking about Leon. He is still in the Rehabilitation Unit but is expected to be transferred to Skilled Nursing again this week. The socket of his hip has to heal for at least two months before surgery can be considered. Now four weeks have passed. He may need to come home for a time with all the necessary adjustments in our house. We need a lot of patience. I spend most of my time with him while trying to do a few "normal" things.
My 92 year old aunt Hilda died early March of complications of old age (falls, fractures, heart problems). There was a thread and a candle group for her at that time. Again, thank you for inquiring.
With every good wish,
Edda
