Welcome blue_butterfly!What a beautiful name to choose. I did not know what a blue butterfly looked like so I googled it and found the most beautiful picture of a deep, almost iridescent blue butterfly. I do not know how to import pictures to this site so I couldn't import it. I am so sorry about your brother. Often when one reaches that point he/she feels so much pain inside and just doesn't know how to share it. You are correct, none of us will every comprehend God's wisdom. We only know that the pain we feel and the tears we shed are shared by the Holy One who constantly walks our darkest moments with us. I pray that the Holy One will comfort you and heal you and that you will allow your brother to help you through this difficult time. Truly death never ends our relationship with one we love and now that that person is finally at peace, he/she will do anything they can to support us if we just ask them.
May you be blessed!

Thank you for your lovely warm welcome, Imenuff. It's a pleasure to be here.  Yes, there is an iridescent blue butterfly found in central and south America and it's called the Blue Morpho. So much legend is attached to it and a few years back, it was the subject of a movie called  simply 'The Blue Butterfly'. It was based on the true story of a young boy suffering from terminal cancer. The pursuit of this butterfly changed not only his life but others as well. It's all over the net should you care to take a peek.

You have given me such encouragement and comfort with your reply. Just knowing someone is out there with arms outstretched and a willing ear makes the load easier to carry somehow.  May God bless you, dear friend... I'm sure He shines his light on you always.

Dear Blue_Butterfly, Please know that we are always here to support you with our prayers and to listen. As I typed your name, I thought about Butterflies and your brother. Although none of us know the interior pain that may have brought him to this point, he is now free--"The cocoon has yielded it's butterfly." Feelings and emotions for those left behind possibly could be compared to a real roller coaster of anger, grief, etc. But then, feelings are neither good nor bad, right nor wrong, they just are. I pray that in the midsts of this you sense the Holy One tenderly holding you in the palm of Our God's hand and supporting and sustaining you.

May the many and varied colors of autumn remind you of the of the Holy One's passionate love and care for you.

(The movie "Blue Butterfly" sounds really good. I will have to rent it. Although I live in a heavily populated area both in terms of business and residential, DSL was only provided to the business area).
