A young man went to Iraq in October of 2006. He joined the service simply to get health insurance for his wife as she has pre-existing conditions. He loves her so much that he thought by joining the service he would better be able to take care of her and their two very young children. On
Memorial Day May 28, 2007 he and 8 other soldiers were riding in a tank when they were hit by a bomb. Sadly 6 young people died and he and two others are just haning on. He is only 22. He is severly burned, they had to amputate one of his arms, his spine is so injured that he most likely will never walk again (if he even survives), he is burned from head to toe. He is the brother of my son's girlfriend Samantha. He is now on his way to Texas. He is on a ventilator due to sever smoke inhalation I began a new candle group for him. It is jeral. If you have chance can you please light a candle for him and his family. And maybe an extra candle for all of our soldiers so far from home?

Dear Judy: I will happily light a candle for Jeral. And I hope he will heal as much as possible. My prayers are with him and all his loved ones. This war is causing so much heartache.

Best regards,
Emil

Dear Judy, I am so sorry to hear about this young man's injuries. His story brings to life the numbers wounded and killed reported in the news. They all have families, people who love them.
I will be glad to light a candle and keep him in my prayers.
With every good wish to you and him and his family,
Edda

Here is the most recent update I have on Jerral. His mother, sister and wife (with his kids) are on base with him. He cannot move his arm (one has been amputated) or his legs. He had to have more surgery on his intestines due to shrapnel also because of the injuries caused by the shrapnel he may never walk again. The odds are very very small to none. But his sister called my son and told him that he was removed from the ventilator and is breating on his own. A prayer answered. She said he has improved a little bit. But a little is better than none. He is still extremly critical.  It is hour by hour at this point. Please say a little prayer for our fallen soldier and all of our soldiers.

I'm deeply saddened. Every day I pray for stillness in the hearts of those in/at war. Let Jeral know he is loved.

Dear Judy: I've been lighting a candle for Jerral and praying for him every day. It makes me really happy to know he's doing better, even if only a little. I'll keep praying.

My love to Jerral and his family.
