You're right, Blue. Last night when I wasn't even half-way through my list, I wasn't able to light candles anymore. I came back now to try again, and again I can't light any.

You know I'm praying for you, dear friend, as I'm praying for all the others here who are in need of prayers and comfort.

Hopefully soon, the candles will be back.

With love,
Emil

9:13 PM was able to light a candle now. This seems to be an erratic problem, perhaps too many people are lighting candles at the same time?? If this continues I'll notify Administration. Perhaps the web-master can fix the problem. As it is now, we know that we are all thinking of each other and praying, with or without candles. As to the frustration? Do I hear someone say, "Offer it up"???
Perhaps we are getting a lesson in patience, but, unfortunately, we can't light a candle for that in the "Zendo" (but I will try anyhow!).

p.s. After not being able to light candles again, I went to the German side of Light a Candle and to my surprise I was able to light the remainder of the candles on my list. Perhaps this would work in any of the other languages

Dear Friends,
After watching the news tonight....(the terrible accident on a California freeway), I felt compelled to ask that you join me in a prayer for the victims especially the Police officer's that were killed. This was a devastating accident, and my heart was crushed with such sadness for these men and there families and the others involved. On the same freeway ten miles north of this accident another officer was killed.
I know there are so many that we pray for, but my heart goes out to these people and I cannot let this go with out an acknowledgment of this tragedy.
Please forgive me for asking, but just a simple remembrance for them is needed.
For myself  I will light a candle for them in the group  Jesus.
Thank-you for reading my post and for your prayers for them.
God Bless you all dear friends and keep you safe.
Much love,
Blue

Dear Blue, thank you for drawing our attention to this tragedy. I will join you in lighting a candle for the officers and remember them in my prayers.

Dear Blue: I heard something about an accident in California, but it was in passing. I need to look it up in Google. Anyway, I will gladly light a candle and say a prayer for the victims.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I hope you're doing well.

With love,
Emil

To ALL my Dear Friends,

I cannot tell you all how much I have appreciated your LOVE, and SUPPORT for me. I thank-you all so very much.
Due to the "SHORTAGE" of candles I now ask that, tho I love so very much your thoughts and prayers and remembrance of me and the candles have been a real booster, I now ask that the candles you have done for me you now give to another on your list. I know in my heart that you are there for me ...........But I know there are others who need these candles more then myself.  So.............I guess what I am trying to say is it is OK to NOT light a candle for me. I only ask you keep me in mind and heart.......Please do not take this the wrong way........As I go through my list and when I cannot light any more candles.........  I do one of these "doh's" and only wish I had just one more candle!

(note to Blue.....feeling awkward here and wanting to not hurt anyones feelings)

We all now have a juggling act to do with the candles...so I am in hopes this might help just a bit.

I pray you all can understand what I am trying to say here......so please take BLUE off of your list and with love please give to another.
God Bless each and everyone of you with much love,
Blue

Dear Blue,

I hear what you are saying, and no, you haven't hurt my feelings
BUT, you are no less worthy of candles than anyone else. Please believe you are as important as anyone else in the world.
You are always in my thoughts, Love J

Dearest Blue, thank you for your offer to not have candles lit for you, but, guess what? I am not removing you from my list, since you are just as worthy to receive them as others. So, keep looking at your group. Now and then a candle will pop up! I do hope we might get a bigger "allowance", but for now each of us will find a way to manage!
One thing is sure, you are ALWAYS in my heart, thoughts and prayers!
With much love,  Edda

Blue you are in my prayers as well as everyone here. There are times we all need prayers and a candle but may not say. I understand your thought on the shortage of candles to go around, even if a candle is not lit, thoughts and prayers of the person still have good intentions and not go forgotten.

God Bless

Dearest Judith, Edda, Marie and others,
YOUR THE BEST!!
With a humble and deeply grateful heart I THANK-YOU.
God Bless you all and keep you safe.
Much Love to you,
Blue

THE  SERENITY PRAYER

God, grant me the Serenity
to accept the things I cannot change..
Courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace.
Taking, as he did, this sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it.
Trusting that he will make all things right,
if I surrender to His will.
That I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with Him forever in the next.
Amen

Blue: I don't remember ever reading the second stanza (or paragraph). It's all very beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us.
