the objective is to have a donor card so that when you will be dead, your organs will save sick people who could be dead without organs transplantation.

this is totally free.

Welcome to the forum, Marie-Christine! Organ donations are very important since there is a great shortage and there a long waiting lists. Here in Illinois anyone can indicate on their driver's license or State ID card that they are organ donors. I suspect that not everyone coming to this forum knows enough French to understand everything on the web-site you have provided. It is good to remind everyone to be mindful of the need for organ donations and arrange for the needed documentation to express their wishes. Thank you!

Welcome Edda , in France unfortunately it's impossible to write on the driving license or the identity card for people who want to be organ donors. this system doesn't exist there. we have a great shortage for organs and hundreds of sick people die every year without transplantation.
have you heard about a famous french singer called Grégory Lemarchal? this singer won the french star academy in 2004.
Grégory Lemarchal had a very bad mucosity disease. (mucoviscidose in french) and he needed to have a lung transplantation to live.
unfortunately there was no lung available to save him and this singer died on the 30th of april 2007.

Thank you, Marie-Christine, for your information. Each country does things differently. Here, everyone is much encouraged to sign up as a donor. It is sad, when people needlessly die, because no organs are available. I hope your message will encourage many to consider the gift of life.
