have you heard about a famous french singer called Grégory Lemarchal?    this singer won the french star academy in 2004.
Grégory Lemarchal had a very bad mucosity disease. (mucoviscidose in french)  and he needed to have a lung transplantation to live.
unfortunately there was no lung available to save him and this singer died on the 30th of april 2007.
a tribute for him will be in Paris on the 29th of june in the tuilerie garden from five o'clock in afternoon . the money will go to an organisation to fight against this horrible mucosity disease and to another organisation which encourage people to be organ donors.

I was not aware of this young man or his music but went on a google search after reading your post. How sad that he died and what an inspiration. I pray for strength and comfort for all those who loved him and for everyone who greives the loss of someone they love. Amen

Dear Marie-Christine, I, too, had to google the name to learn about the singer. The hereditary disease that led to his death is usually referred to as Cystic Fibrosis in English. Among other things, it destroys the lungs. It is sad that a lung was not available for a transplant. This is another reminder, like you posted before, to make sure we take the steps to make our wishes known to become donors.
Thank you, again, for the reminder! My sincere sympathy to all who knew and loved him.
With every good wish,
Edda

if you want to give money to help doctors fighting against Cystic Fibrosis, please visit this link

the more money you give, the better is for medical research to save patients. (don't forget to be organ donors)

today,  22st of june 2007, it's a special and a national day to celebrate people who are organ donors in the whole FRANCE.

I wonder if a special day like that exists for organ donors in the USA or in England.

Dear Marie-Christine: The possible reason you haven't gotten an answer to your question is that everyone's probably thinking, "Do we have such a day here?" That's what came to my mind. I think the answer is, "No, we don't have one." Or at least I've never heard of it. Might not be a bad idea to follow France's lead.

My best,
Emil

for those who can understand french, you can visit and give money to an organisation created by gregory's parents.

                                   http://www.associationgregorylemarchal.com/

the objective of this organisation is to help patients who have cystic fibrosis  (or mucoviscidose in french).

Dear Marie-Christine: I just saw the video on YouTube in which Gregory sings Con te partiro with Andrea Bocelli whom I think is probably the best singer in the world. It was a great video and I'm looking forward to finding out more about this talented young man who lost his life so prematurely.

I will light a candle for Gregory in group Jesus.

With love,
Emil

this video is particularly interesting to watch in the middle of it.

   http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=VAzCETjTuq8

just in a few seconds gregory made a mistake because he forgot to sing a sentence. his partner mathieu had to sing this sentence instead of gregory.
( he moves his arm towards gregory)    then gregory realize his mistake and he says  "ok ok"  to mathieu doing a sign with his hand and he sings his text.

it's interesting to see how to repair a mistake in a text saying  "ok ok"  to your partner doing a sign with the hand before saying your text.

it happens for about three seconds just after the middle of the video.

don't forget to take a donor card and to give money for medical research.

Hi Marie-Christine: If the candles are working again (they stopped working for a while) I will happily light one for Gregory. I had been doing so before.

With love,

I transfer a request of an english person on youtube and my answer.

can anybody told me why Greg died?, I mean I didnt know but Ive heard about it.. is that truth? how old was he?!! =( it looked he used to sing very well

Gregory was 23 years old and he died because he was sick. he had a cystic fibrosis. the french word is mucoviscidose but the english word is cystic fibrosis.
this disease destroys the lungs and gregory needed to have a lung transplant to survive.
the huge problem was that no lung was available to save him and he died waiting for it.
it's very important to be an organ donor and to take a donor card in order to save sick people like gregory who need an organ transplant to survive.

today, 30th september is a special day to fight against cystic fibrosis in the whole France.

this special day is made by an organisation  "vaincre la mucoviscidose"  it means win against cystic fibrosis. they organize "les virades de l'espoir" in the whole France today. the objective is to make an appeal for people to raise money against cystic fibrosis.

I don't know if a special day against cystic fibrosis exists in other countries.

someone told me that a child who born today in 2007 with cystic fibrosis can live until 42 years old due to the science progress.

tonight, it's the beginning of the 7th french star académy.

of course the channel will make a big tribute for gregory lemarchal.

don't forget to help sick people by giving money to medical research and by taking donor cards.
