To all: Sorry that I've been somewhat sporadic lately. As a Bookkeeper, the beginning/ending of the month is especially busy and my internet connection at home is temporarily down, so I've only a few minutes to participate in the conversations. Vicky: Your post, as I told you in an email, had me gigglin' for the rest of the day! I'm very honored that you consider me an asset to these forums. The truth of it is, though, I'm just contributing like everyone else. For some, lighting candles vigilantly is their contribution. Others contribute with notes of recognition and acknowledging that when someone speaks, someone's listening. I just happen to contribute small books. LOL So, as you've encouraged me, I'll be posting more books in the future! Blue: You are becoming very special to me, dear one. You've a strength to endure that I admire! I don't know how this will sound like a compliment, but it is: You serve stubborn very well. What I mean by that is your post of Kindness. Your co-workers didn't care and, pretty much, told you that they weren't going to care. The stubborn in you was so offended by the casual attitude of 'I'm busy' that you refused to accept it! Lil stubborn Blue said, "Well, I don't accept that!" and you went and did something about it!!!!!! Kudos to you! And I agree totally: The Creator does like a good funny every now and then! Emil: I'm 31 years young (why did it ever become acceptable to say "X number of years old?"). When it comes down to it, I just love people. I've a passion for people that has served me far better than the trouble it's gotten me into. One of the reasons I loved working at SuperKmart in Virginia Beach was because of the customers. We had the terribly rich, the terribly poor, average Joes and Janes, beautiful people, ugly people, and everything in between. Every day I went to work, I walked through a beautiful garden of diversity. I'd worked at many grocery stores and will always love doing so (I'm considering applying to the new Whole Foods just up the street from me). Everyone needs to eat and the grocery store is one of the wonderful places where you can experience all the different people as they go about their day. And I find that there's very little that I'm more entranced with than watching people just go about their day. I get a sense of that, here, in these forums, too! China: I'm so pleased that something of the crazy life I've lived can inspire someone else. I've been so inspired and blessed by the most amazing people since my journey on this plane has started; I can only honor them by following their examples and sharing their love with anyone that will let me. There's a lot to be said for "No." People that do love you will understand if "No" is the answer you have for them; the people that don't will get angry and try to use guilt to get the answer they want. It's kind of self-filtering that way; it's easier to separate the whey from the curd. And, BTW, you already know true freedom - you realize there's more than one way to accomplish things and the method you use is, most times, more important than completing the task. In that manner, you already, very much, know true freedom. Now, all you have to do is practice it. Easier said than done, I know. But that's no reason to not start trying, right?
