A recent improvement in our Light a Candle feature allows a group of people to
light candles for a common purpose, whether it's for a cause such as peace
in a war-torn country, for a single person who may be ill, or to
celebrate a joyous occasion. Read more about Candle Groups.

Creating a group is easy: during the ritual, when you come to the page
where you type in your message, you will see at the bottom of the page, a
box to write the group's name or initials in. It says right there: "To
associate your candle with a candle group, or to start a new group, enter
a group initial." So type in up to 5 letters for your group, click on
"Continue," and you have created a group!

Others can go the the "Search" link at the top of the Candles page and
type in your group name to find all the candles lit for that shared
concern, and then light their own candle if they choose to do so.

After you have started a group, you can come to this forum to let others
know the name of the group, and why you have created it. If you want, you
can communicate with others in the forum who have lit candles in the group
as well.

Why do we have to go through a ritual to start a candle group? We are being sent around the mulburry bush picking at random a ritual for a person/cause we don't even know - and they don't even know us?

Seems logical to start a candle group from the top menu, and get straight to it.

I came to the site to start a candle group, but with this difficult out of the way procedure - I am not.

Hello, I've just joined and would like to start a group on the Light a Candle website for my friend's recent loss. Please can you tell me where the instructions are of how to start a group?

Many thanks

Hi, I'm new here
I statred a candle group some time ago. it was very simple to do and very gratifying to have a small nuche where people can be directed to.  Many have joined me in this celebration and it inspires me to be a better person as well.

Thanks for your wonderful site and all it's features.
