Status: offline 		Today I am grateful for being reminded (by you, Solomon) what boon a good cup of tea is. Fancy, although I love tea (and don´t drink coffee at all) it has never occurred to me that I might be grateful for it.

Status: offline 		Thank you both, J1937 and Solomon, for reminding me how good a cup of tea tasted when my virus was at its peak.

Today, I am grateful that a very dear friend had a very special birthday with many unexpected surprises from the "Holy One!". For the past several years she has been involved in taking total care of her disabled elderly husband. I am so grateful that her day has been so special.

Richard, everytime I see your signature of "rj", it reminds me of a musical note. We are still hoping for our change in the weather. While we are no longer in triple digits, we are very close to it with stifling humidity.

Status: offline 		Tomorrow the heat will be back and we'll have lots of humidity, but for today, IT'S RAINING!!!!!  And it's only 77 degrees!!!!!!!!!!!  What a mental and emotional relief it is to have a break in the heat, even just a day. 

I agree about the tea.  It's one of the most comforting things in the world.

Status: offline 		Yikes!  I did feel grateful for that rain, but I hadn't had the television on all day until now, and found out the same system that brought a nice, gentle rain to my part of the state, brought really awful flooding about a hundred miles away.  I now feel challenged to let myself feel gratitude for a beautiful, rainy day while also feeling concerned for the flood victims.  I'm lighting a candle for them.

I am so glad to see your post. Our news was filled with the floods in Oklahoma so the prayers started going immediately for your safety and for all those involved in the floods, hurricanes, etc. I was just going to send you an email to make sure you were OK. All those who have been so devastated by the floods will be held in prayer. We had the thunder and lightening but the rain passed us by. I am grateful that you are ok.

Status: offline 		Today I am grateful for making a little 9-year-old happy by keeping her occupied with the simplest of activities, like cutting out pictures from catalogs and magazines and sticking them into a scrapbook. (She never asked for watching TV  !)

Status: offline 		Imenuff:  Thanks for your concerns about my safety in the floods.  After my last post, it started flooding about 40 miles away, where my parents and sister live.  They're all OK, but they sure had stories to tell about how hard it rained and how high the water got.  It rained 8 inches there, in about 2 hours.  This weather this year is the strangest I've ever seen. 

Today I'm grateful for the safety of my family, and that the big project I finished last week got really good feedback today.

To be able to understand that its ok to love myself and that sometimes loving myself means to speak my truth knowing that others may not be pleased with me for not putting them ahead of my own needs. That was very very hard for me to do! Today I feel strong and at peace because I have giving up the need to be accepted and approved of.  I am finally free to be myself praise God.

Juliana, I am sure the little one you had with you was just as grateful for you. It had to be very special for her to make a scrapbook with you and to have you spend all that time with her. It has always been said that the greatest gift we can give anyone is our time.

Solomon, I am pleased that you had the day off when the big boss came in today. It is always such a gift to not be around at those times.

Lori, I hope the floods don't get any closer to your sister and parents homes. Perhaps Dean will drop his after hurricane rains somewhere else, at least we can all pray for that and that no one else gets flooded. I am pleased you did get some rain. We are still bone dry

Judith, your plums and apples sound yummy. Nothing tastes better than fresh fruits and veges right out of the garden. I can readily understand why your gratitude for them

Today, I am grateful that I am alive, that my fingers and hands, arms and legs, feet and toes, all function. I am also grateful that tonight is the last high stress meeting for this month (sigh!!)

Status: offline 		Tonight I am very very grateful for all those around me who so willingly supported me with their prayers during my meeting. Change is difficult for all of us, and tonight I chaired a meeting that turned the purpose of the monthly meeting upside down and inside out in ways that several attending did not want to go. I hate confrontation and at times avoid it at all costs. The decision as to the necessity to turn upside down and inside out was reached by leadership consensus and prayer support brought it to fruition.

Status: offline 		As I checked my email this morning, I found the Monthly Gratefulness Newsletter! NO, THIS IS NOT A "COMMERCIAL"

I don't know how many of you know that you can sign up for a monthly newsletter. It is on the Home Page of Gratefulness.Org. On the column "What's New", there is a link to subscribe to the E-Newsletter which is sent to your email box each month.

Today, I am grateful for all the challenging, inviting content of this newsletter. Each month there are articles which challenge me to go beyond the "status quo" in certain areas of my spirituality. There are articles that comfort, invite, etc. We all stand on the shoulders of wisdom and shared experiences of those who have gone before us and the wisdom and shared experiences of those who are involved in the same search that we are involved in. AGAIN, PLEASE UNDERSTAND, THIS IS NOT A "COMMERCIAL", JUST AN HONEST STATEMENT OF SOMETHIING I PERSONALLY HAVE FOUND EXTREMELY HELPFUL. It is also an honest statement of how grateful I am each month to see the newsletter in my email box. Yes, all the material is on the home page but I am one of those who, with the best of intentions, never quite gets around to reading all the articles. By leaving it in my inbox, the articles are eventually read and "chewed" upon. So, today I am very grateful for the new Newsletter and invite each of you reading this to share in this gift for your own life.
