Tonight I am grateful for a visit from a young couple and their 20 months old, very active daughter. We had a nice time catching up on all the news. They brought some wonderful Viennese pastries and special coffee beans which we all enjoyed, while the little one was drinking her milk and nibbling on pound cake (her mother thought the pastries would be all over her, the carpet and the furniture!)

I am also grateful that Leon's blisters seem to be responding to the labor-intensive treatment the dermatologist prescribed. He wanted him to be hospitalized, but Leon would not hear of it. The doctor did not know how determined (stubborn?) Leon and I could be!

Today I am grateful for a day of many good things. The rain had missed coming which meant we were able to be outdoors in the backyard most of the day to enjoy a cool but nice day. A friend that has been so supportive to me, I was able to return the kindness with things that needed to be said for a boost during a trying time. An unexpected invitation from a friend who I had not heard from in a long time, to watch them perform and a visit with somene I was not sure of that comes off as distant is really friendly and caring. Good day, I am grateful.

Today I am grateful for my family.  Their love and support is so special and I know just how very fortunate I am to have them.  I am due to go into hospital for intensive treatment  again - I have been unwell for over 20 years now - and I am so not wanting to go.  I know I have their love and they will be there for me through everything.  I a so blessed to have them - they have taught me love, patience and kindness which I hope to share with all at Gratefulness.org.

Dear Deb, Welcome to the forum. I am so sorry to hear about your illness. Just the words "intensive treatment" do not sound very pleasant and make your not wanting to go understandable. Your family sounds very special and I am sure you have gifted them in many ways as they have also gifted you. Today, we are grateful that you have chosen to join us on the forum. I will light a candle for you in the ALL group and send prayers that the treatment may not be as bad as anticipated. Know that you have our love prayers and support. Please come back often and keep us updated on how you are doing.

Gentle hugs and prayers,

In this early morning time (it's a little after 3 a.m. here) I am grateful for some quiet time to catch up with all of you and time for the prayer of just "being". You all have been missed.
Jude, although there wasn't time to post, you and your family were held in prayer. I am so sorry to have read about your brother-in-law. Two deaths in such a short period of time can be difficult. Know that all of you were and are held in prayer. Over this past year, your posts consistently expand my appreciation of nature; first the buzzards, now the Ramsoms and wild violets which just seem to pop up all over on their own. You have shown me how much growth is still needed in my appreciation of the natural world. May it bless you abundantly with it's wild beauty. Barbara, congratulations on the success with your seminar. It is always such a gifted moment when the Holy One uses us to touch others' lives and share hope/reconciliation with them. There is that very blessed sense of knowing that it is not me, but the Holy One's action through me. Thank you for the prayers/candles for Jess and Larry and the St. Gerard prayers. They have long been a favorite, even in those times when they "seemed to not have been answered." Your copying them in your post saved me the time of finding them on line or calling the Redemptorists and asking for a copy. May the Spirit's work continue to flow through you.
Lori, after reading your posts these many months, the flowers and "thank you" card seem so much deserved, kind of like the Holy One saying "thank you" for being so very dedicated, above and beyond, to all "My Beloved" who are struggling so much. May your vacation be a time of blessed rest and refreshment for you.Lynn, I, too, have been finding it difficult lately to keep up with all posts. Know that you and Taylor's family are held in much prayer with gratitude for a safe journey there and back.
Marie, what can I say about the specialness of your post. It reminded me of Jude's post about the Ramsoms. The "flower of Marie" was almost crushed, covered over and in darkness. Yet in her total openness to going through the pain and openness to allowing the tender healing Love of the Holy One, she has become a new and stronger plant and flower that has withstood a very crushing blow of life and the accompanying darkness. May you continually remain open to the new life that is so obviously blossoming in you and that has much new giftedness to offer all you come in contact with. Glenys your post was a good reminder of all the times I too have been a stern parent to myself and insisted on "work work" before allowing "play work" and also ended up gratitude challenged. Thanks for the reminder.
T.O.It is good to read the very positive "super duper" gratitude for the beginnings of healing in an important relationship. Prayers continue for total healing and that life may contain the beauty of the mountains standing tall with the fresh waters and many vibrant colors of new life. Juliana, congratulations on the seminar. May its fruits of peace continue in the lives of those attending. Edda, prayers continue for both of you that Leon's blisters heal completely. Do take care of you in all of this. Your visit with your young friends sounds like it was a good tonic for both of you.
Although I may have forgotten to mention someone specifically, know that with an extreme scarcity of "free time", you all are constantly included in Therese of Liseiux type prayer.

Blessings on the coming week. May we all be completely open to the giftedness of this week even when it doesn't seem like gift.

Dear Deb, I join everyone else in welcoming you. There is little I can add to all the good things that have been said already. My heart goes out to you, and I will keep you in my prayers.

My brother, who lives in Austria, is in love with New Zealand. He thinks it is the most beautiful country in the world, and that is saying something considering he comes from Austria!

Wishing you everything good,
Love,  Edda

Deb,
Welcome from me, too! I will light a candle for you in the All-group, praying for good progress in your healing process.

Betty,
I wonder what "ransoms" are. Three of my dictionaries do not help - they all speak of money only!

Thankful One,
Do you happen to have a picture of ransoms, which certainly are flowers, aren´t they?

Tonight I am grateful for many blessings, particularly for my cherry tree in full bloom. It has gotten more majestic each year in the past, and it is a symbol for me of strength combined with exuberant delicacy.

Juliana, Behold, my sins have found me out!! I mispelt Ramsons when I first posted about them (I think in this thread) they are wild garlic plants (or one of them) See my post and picture.

Welcome back. I look forward to hearing about your course.

Love Jude

Dear Jude,
Forget about your "sins" which don´t exist! Thanks for clarifying. "Ramsons" aren´t in my dictionaries, either, but now I know.

Jude,
Thankful One,
My neighbor, who is an excellent gardener, has solved the Ransom/Ramson riddle for me: In German, it is called "Bärlauch", and it has become very popular in recent years, being used in many dishes.
Thanks for the pictures!

Today I am personally grateful for Marie.

Marie has posted so many wonderful, cute and inspiring things that have made my day so many times for so many different reasons.

I cannot begin to imagine how she has continually come up with these posts.

I would just like to say that I am the grateful beneficiary of what has to be a tremendous amount of time and energy she has put into making this site so wonderful.

Thank you very much Marie.

Thankful one you are so kind. Everyone here makes this site so very special with their kindness, candles and prayers. I am not sure if I would have made it this far along my journey without everyone here and their support, but I will not think about that. It is all good now. T.O. you have added so much by your warm way of welcoming everyone here, caring and the beauty and color that you add to the forum.

It was a nice surprise to see your post after an exhausting day that I have had of finishing planting flowers, yes more, it has gotten to me, cutting the grass and raking. Whew! I am trying to get things done before the rain after tomorrow, for the next four days to market, and do eveything at all once and still have a life to enjoy family. A message from the egg carton while cooking earlier today, came to me after feeling a bit stressed and on overload, "Rejoice in the day that the Lord has made", that turned it all around and your wonderful post, thank you. I am grateful....

God Bless You
Marie

Today I am grateful that not only did my angel come and do the work I have put off for months, but he brought an assistant and they accomplished a lot. He didn't exactly look like the image below but I couldn't find one for grease angel.

I hope everyone else had a wonderful day!
