Glenys, I'm so glad your Mother was found OK. I can imagine your fear for her, and also your pleasure that she actually wished to go out!

Lynn, I'm pleased you feel able to do some spring-cleaning. I'm not good at that, or at thinning out my knick-knacks. I'm more prone to buying more, but have to curb that as I now don't have the room.

Love, Jude

Glenys,
I too am glad that your mother is okay.

That's one of my life goals - to get old and still have plenty of spunk and adventure left in me.

Lynn,
Your post inspired me to do some spring cleaning today. It's amazing how much stuff I could move on to Goodwill or throw out. It gave me a lift in my spirits to move all this stuff along. I still have tons more to do but I am grateful for your inspiration to get started.

It was also good to find all these areas that needed a good cleaning and clean them.

Thankful one thanks for the good wishes for selling my home. Praying it will go smoothly or go at all. LOL. My thoughts are with you as you get your cleaning done. A few days ago I dropped off ten  bags and just a few more to go. Having good music on while cleaning seems to make it a better way to do it and can perk you up, meaning me.

Juliana and Jude thanks to both of you for the support, it is good to know you, and awe you guys are so sweet. (not guys just another way to say both of you).

After being away for a while I really do miss being here and everyone here. The caring, compassionate, understanding, supportive good people.

It makes me realize more so lately there are some in the world to stay away from around me, the evil in the world, those with no belief, only in themselves. God bless them.

Good to be back.

Today I am most grateful for having a great pre-school Graduation Day! It was so very special to watch my little one walk up the stairs and over the bridge with her black handmade art paper graduation cap and a tie on it, to hold it down on a windy spring morning at the park. It brought tears to my eyes, and memories from 20 years ago. Following was a picnic and people saying goodbye, and keep in touch during the summer. I am grateful for this day and being at this point with my little one and feeling proud, and enjoy the gift I have.

Today I am grateful (?) for cabinets that need shelves put in them and then at least attempting to figure out where things will now go, what is excess baggage and can be given away, etc. I honestly don't even want to think about it since there won't be any water until next week at this time. I would say I am gratitude challenged about work, work, and more work and still more work but at least there is a home to work in. Marie, I love your idea of music while one is doing the garbage but the other half of the marriage wants total quiet while he does this stuff. Have you buried St. Joseph yet?? prayers continue to him for the sale of your home. The graduation sounds really special. CONGRATULATIONS! Your new life sounds like it will be a real adventure. Juliana, right now my energy has just burst!! I think motivation has too. Lynn, it is sooooooo good to read that your pain has finally left you. The visit from your friend and her grandson sounds like it was a perfect prescription for you. Your posting voice sounds so happy and contented. May you keep on being pain free and feeling more energetic. Jude, please, give yourself a giant hug for how you have grown. If I were nearer, I would do it. Reading how you handled being around your ex was a real joy and you should be very proud of yourself. What a special gift you have given you by not letting his pettiness demean you. BRAVO! Glenys, what a terrible shock and what a real gift from the young man who brought her home. It is always such a worry when someone does ot turn up where they are supposed to be. T.O. Blessings on selling your property and home. May it sell quickly so that you are able to move on with your life.Edda, Blessings on your prayer group tomorrow. They seem like such a very special gift to you.
Prayers for all of you, and Joe, Lori, Barbara, Solomon, Alchemist, Jessica and any I have forgotten. Time to get back to work--breaktime is over.

May all have a peaced filled weekend.

Betty, special prayers for you tonight for your overload of work, that it will get easier and lighter. Take lots of breaks.

What was Imee doing in my home town today???????? I saw a look-alike in one of my local charity shops. Or perhaps she was visiting me?

Today I am grateful for a day off from 'school-run' duties.

Jude

I know this is kind of long and I'm not sure if you have seen it before or not, but I think it is 'just in time' for everyone. I got this from my sister-in-law a few minutes ago. We are each going thru our struggles, and I think this little story would be beneficial to all of us.
Adding prayers, blessings and thanks to all. Love, Lynn xo
ENJOY.

A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...You will never look at a cup of
coffee the same way again.
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how
things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make
it and wanted to give up, She was tired of fighting and struggling. It
seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.
Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and
placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she
placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she
placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying a
word.
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the
carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and
placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a
bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, ' Tell me what you see.'

'Carrots, eggs, and coffee,' she replied.
Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did
and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to
take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the
hard boiled egg.
Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter
smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, 'What does
it mean, mother?'
Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same
adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in
strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the
boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile.
Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after
sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The
ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling
water, they had changed the water.
'Which are you?' she asked her daughter. 'When adversity knocks on your
door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with
pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the
heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a
financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and
stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and
tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?
Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water,
the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it
releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things
are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you.
When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest do you
elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you
a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make
you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you
happy.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The
brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go
forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone
around you is crying.

May we all be COFFEE!!!!!!!

Thank you, Lynn! I have read this story before, but it makes a good point. We all encounter adversity. How we deal with it makes all the difference!

Jude, Dear, I am sure it must have been Imee. She just got tired of sitting by my computer getting no attention and she knows you think she is special so, she just left and decided to go visit you. I forgot to tell you, Imee had a baby, a little baby bunny big ears only about 6 inches long with a little pink t-shirt on. She came on Mother's Day and looks exactly like her mom--pink lined ears, pink nose, etc. See, that's why she came to visit you. Not only hasn't she gotten any attention, her little one hasn't either. I am sure she just popped up to tell you how well you did with your ex and to thank you for caring about her.

Much hugs,

Imenuff, Going through the major overhaul of the house I understand why some may like it quiet. Use headphones and sing out loud, softly. I have not had a chance to get another St. Joseph statue to bury yet.  I will in time, along with the other millions of things to do and to complete. Thank you for the prayers and well wishes of the graduation.
My brother is redoing his kitchen from top to bottom. I have seen the many phases of the project and obstacles that have surfaced. Your kitchen will be nice when it is completed. Keeping you and your family in my prayers.

God bless
Marie

Today I am grateful for "PATIENCE". Patience within myself, because of my expectations of myself, no one else. The overhaul of the past three weeks and the late nights and many get togethers with others, has took it's toll to feeling like a chicken with it's head cut off, but mine is still on. LOL. The pictures of the house were taken last week for the listing and none of them turned out, so today was a day to reshoot and the pressure was on to keep moving things out, downstairs to the basement and all around. A relief that the pictures came out this time.

I am also grateful for seeing a side of someone that had always came across as hard and not caring. Today I saw a side of gentleness and kindness. I prayed it would one day. Thank you God.

Today I am grateful for all of you who go on struggling with their challenges. You have my admiration and best wishes!

I am grateful for little Aki, who is showing me how much potential for growth lies in the challenges a child confronts you with. I have to overcome any unwillingness or laziness and any rests of egotism. I have to check everything I say - is it completely honest, are the reasons I give for allowing or refusing something free of ulterior motives?  And he shows me what gratefulness is, by responding wonderfully to the smallest sign of attention.

Dear Jude,

And I love it - it  goes to show just how different people are!
Today I am grateful for a new kind of valuable children´s books from which children can learn what really counts in life.

"Children who are read to learn two things:
First, that reading is worthwhile, and
second, that they are worthwhile."

Juliana, I had a theology professor who would sometimes use children's books for Grad school class. You would have thoroughly enjoyed her. She would have us do the 30 to 35 page term papers with the 40 to 50 annotations. The other half of our term grade involved being given 10 minutes to present the entire contents of the term paper out loud to a "pretend" class of fourth graders so that they could understand it. She, along with the class would ask "fourth grade" questions about it. She had taught the lower half of the 8 grades for 20 years before getting her PhD in Theology and another in Spirituality, so she understood questions from "little ones". Her concept was that if we couldn't break it down clearly to that level of understanding then it was nothing more than an intellectual head trip and we really hadn't learned anything.

Jude, I guess we both went wrong in the aspect of not sitting on the floor. Right now, though, I am not sure the old bod and "Arthur ritis" would allow it any more even if I didn't mind doing it.

Marie, I like the suggestions of just using headphones and quietly listening to music. Just don't have one of those modern portable music players. We are now in somewhat of a holding pattern--more plumbing problems than we had ever anticipated--the joys of owning an oder home with all the older piping. May your "chicken" find its head once again and reattach it. I can't even imagine being involved in a project the scope of yours; property prep, selling, thinning out, and moving all that distance. You and your sale, move, etc., have been tucked into the kitchen table candle. Know that much prayer is sent to smooth the transition for you. I know that with the kitchen, there have been the struggles but the Holy One has popped in with little surprises to let us know that we have much assistance along the way. May you just rest and play today.

Betty, I would have liked your theology professor. Doctors are not always very good in explaining things in ways patients can understand. My principle was always that if you really understand something you should be able to explain it in terms anybody can understand, including 4th graders!
