This morning I am most grateful that a gentleman and his older son picked up all the kitchen cabinets, sink, still working double oven, etc. I had posted it on Free Cycle yesterday and of all the answers for them he seemed to need them the most. He told in his email where he lives and that his were all broken and falling off the walls. Free Cycle is such a gift for sharing our excesses with others who have so very much less, since absolutely no money is involved.

Betty thank you for keeping me in mind with the kitchen table candle and prayers. I too, keep a candle on the kitchen table and counters at night when the little one is safely away from them. My prayers for your plumbing problems to straighten out. My head is on straight after all is done and said. LOL. It had become a bigger project than I first expected it to be, of thinning out house goods, painting, staining the fence, patio work, planting flowers, and now vegetables in containers and keeping the lawn cut and the bushes trimmed. Yes I can see clearly now. Not done but we have time to enjoy ourselves. Thank you for the prayers. I am grateful.

God bless
Marie

I am grateful today because I was able to go to Sunday school. I didn't feel well enough to stay for the service but it's still good. The church was having a dinner after the service and because I couldn't stay, they made me up four plates of food. We had turkey, pot roast, dressing, rice and beans with pork, and bread pudding. Delicious!! I grateful for/and to my church family. They feed your soul and your appetite!!

Dear Betty, I have never heard of FreeCycle before you mentioned it on here. I signed up to be a member. What a great idea. Thank you.

Marie, I am glad you are finding time to enjoy yourself after all that heavy work around your house. I felt tired just reading about all the things you were doing!

Lynn, I am sorry that you didn't feel completetly well this morning, but I am happy for you that your church family is taking care of you in so many ways.

I am grateful that Leon was able to enjoy celebrating his 93. birthday yesterday and today. This evening our neighbor joined us with a bottle of fine champagne. Leon got some of his favorite dishes. The finale was our special flourless hazelnut torte. Last year he was in the hospital and I was not able to bake for him.

Happy Birthday Leon!

Since I couldn't attend, I thought I would at least send you a cake to help you celebrate.

Leon, I hope you had a great birthday!

Today I m grateful for the time to return here to post....hello gratitude family Lynn happy to hear about your church family and the wonderful gift of nourishing spirit and body....as I watched the television priest prepare communion I had the thought of how when spirit is fed we have the ability to overcme most any trial! Betty you are a wonder all the remodeling and challenges that are arising and you are experiencing patience &challenges with such anticipation of the beauty that will arrive out of chaos I too find floor sitting in meditation challenging to me these days..T.O. your journey towards renewal of space and person contiues as you remain vigilant to beauty and openess to others and all that it means a good example for me on the down days...Edda and Leon so happy you were able to celebrate a beautiful benchmark with each other wine ,love and song. Jude, Juliana you continue to teach and model the navigation of adult children as my own daughter challenges the family with her transition to a new state and all the frustration she is experiencing with the plans not moving in the planned order, Lori I continue to keep you your work and choir in thoughts and Solomon always thinking of you and Jude when I have my own computer success and challenges marie my family is caught up in the same house sales prep and challenges as yourself Im holding the positive approach to the final outcome in my intention and prayer. As for my work it has hit a bit of a stop however a local neighborhood paper is going to carry a story another angel miracle a young reporter rang my doorbell asking about another story and saw the REFF on the mailbox I told her our story and 1 week later she called me asked to attend our group God is good and he is supporting me as he sees the need and I have to trust the financial demands will be met somehow some way......I will close for now and return when I can I keep you all close by reading the posts...I cannot help but notice a common theme we all share is transition in our lives, dwellings and families
Namaste

Initially the intention was to post that I was grateful for the "simple" things of a charcoal fire and electric fry pay to cook on and a large soup pot and hot water to do dishes in but, as I thought about it, these are not "simple" things. Yes, I am very grateful for things like this that are far from simple. It reminded me that I was doing dishes with hot water when probably 80 to 90 percent of the world's population doesn't even have clean water much less hot clean water. Is an electric fry pan something simple, Betty when billions of people world wide have no access to electricity, much less the food to be cooked by using it. The more thoughts were given free flow, the stronger was the realization that these are not "simple" things but abundant gifts and blessings to be very very grateful for.

Edda, please wish Leon a belated Happy Birthday from another May Birthday. With the beginnings of spring bursting out all around, it is always a very special month to be lucky enough to be born in.

Edda, I am so pleased you and Leon enjoyed his birthday celebrations.

Betty, if you mean your birthday is also in May, many happy returns to you!

Barbara, Keep trusting.

Today I am grateful that the computer Angel did his very best after several hours of hard work. It's not cured, but I can still get onto the Internet. The problem will most likely be cured when I get Broadband.
How do I get it sorted  without nagging?

Love to all, Jude

Dear Lynn, what a very special church you belong to. I am so sorry that you didn't get to stay, but as the saying goes, "good luck, bad luck, who knows. It must have been very special for you to be given such a gift of love that they would pack up all the food and send it home. You have given so much love to them and now they return it. Freecycle.org is a very special group. I believe there is a freecycle .com but they do not always give the things away free. The one that ishttp://www.freecycle.org/ is really good. They don't allow individuals to just keep taking and taking and taking. They have a certain amount of times that you are allowed to list a "wanted" before you must list an "offer". Other than that, an individual can contact as many "offers" as they want. I have even had broken lawn trimmers that someone wanted to use to supplement income. They fix them and sell them for used. We even had an old sofa bed that went to a guy who just came back from Iraq and had no furniture. It makes it so much easier to "thin out" stuff when you know it will go to someone who really needs it. I would much rather put something on Free Cycle than end up selling it. Prayers continue for healing and that all the kindness and love you give to others be returned to you a hundredfold.

Betty thank you for posting the freecycle site. It will be something I will use for the last grouping of things to go right before the move. After filling my trunk up and driving many miles with those things to go, it would have been a better way to do it using this site. There was an intervention of sorts, a few weeks ago, a person I met, after throwing something out at the drive, I poked my head out and yelled to them as they were pulling away, I had more if they were interested. The timing for them was very much needed after they explained the situation to me. My heart went out to them. I believe we were to meet that day, brought by God. Still in contact with them more things going.

Today is my popping in and out day. Yes, Jude, birthday, anniversary and Mother's Day all within six days of each other maximum and this year, four days of each other. This year, our pastor's mother's out of town funeral was the same day and I ended up at his request, spending the evening chairing a parish wide and school wide forum that had been scheduled months in advance so it kind of put the birthday on the back burner. It still provided the opportunity to go over the previous year's journaling with appreciation for all that had been given in the previous year. Know that you are held in very special prayer tomorrow. Imee and her little one send much love and hugs.
Barbara, know that much prayer goes to you for some financial stability. Sometimes it is really hard to trust that the money will come when the bills need to be paid. It sounds like your organization is getting some much deserved publicity. Prayers that the publicity will help the finances to begin to stabilize. It's good to know that someone else is physically challenged in floor sitting.
Lori, Solomon, Juliana, Joe and T.O. prayers go with you.

Time to get back to work.

Today I am grateful for a few minutes sitting on my porch chair communing with nature.

The wind was blowing in and through the tree branches.

It was beautiful to watch the wind move in flowing waves.

It occurred to me that I can't see the wind that moves the tree branches.

Neither can I see the hand of God moving in and though my life.

Some times I may notice it and other times not, but I am grateful God is forever moving in my life just like the wind is moving the tree branches.

T.O. ,
In the flood of pictures which we are exposed to permanently these days - not all of them so pure that they are uplifting -  one like your last one is truly inspiring. It reminds me of the beginning of an "Early Morning Blessing":

Oh my Beloved Adonai
You are alive for me today.
Seeing the wind caress the branches
Of the trees
I am delivered by Your grace into the infinity of Your existence.

Ronald Bedrick
