God Bless you Steve!! Crikey, you'll be missed mate!! Sincere sympathies to the Irwin Family and dear Friends, and all of Australia. You lost a great man. Deep sadness abounds. The world will be missing a fine man, father, friend, conservationist and animal lover. So very sorry for your loss. ((((((((((STEVE)))))))))))))

i have just learned of his tragic death and i am still shocked. such a great loss for the world and most importantly his wife and family Godspeed to you Steve on your journey home. God`s Blessings to all who`ve been "left" behind

It really hurts to lose someone like Steve. He brought a lot of happiness to this world. His approach to education was right on. He didnt just take you to the zoo, he took you behind the scenes (pariphrase of Fox announcer). My prayers are with his family and friends.

My prayers are with Steve's wonderful family. No words can comfort right now but he is loved and missed by a planet full of fans and supporters. I pray that his positive energy continues to work from above to heal this planet he loves so much.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. I, too, will miss Steve Irwin very much. I made a point to watch his program "Crocodile Hunter" - I watched even if it was a re-run. I enjoyed his presentations especially when he teamed with his wife Terri.

I lit a candle for him today and have invited all my friends from CARE2.com to join us here to light a candle in the group.

From me:

The Crocodile Hunter died doing what he did best, making an animal documentary.

His death is a shock to the animal education and conservation world. His TV programs taught many that crocodiles really are beautiful and have a role to play in the ecology of their environment. His presentations on animals were not only entertaining, but educational. He taught many (especially me) that every animal has a role to play in nature, deserves humans' respect, and above all, the opportunity to live in its' natural habitat - undisturbed.

The world has lost a brilliant and focused ambassador for animals. The Master of the Animal Kingdom has crossed over - he's been met by his girl Sui at the Rainbow Bridge.

My thoughts and prayers are with Terri, Bindi, and his son Bob as well as his parents. May he rest in peace.

Sorry for the sad loss. Terri, Children and all family are in my thoughts.
We have lost a special person who has managed to educate and save many animals worldwide.

I am only one example of a person who Steve Irwin took the time to help in his life. Because of guidance from Australia Zoo, at the age of 41 in 1999 I entered college and began my path in persuing wildlife and forestry conservation. Since that time I have recieved my degree, worked in conservation, animal rescue and rehabilitation, trained as a zoo docent and naturalist with a state park, ran my own animal rescue as well as working as an animal curator for exotic animals and reptiles in 2 states. Thanks you for taking the time to guide me in my dream Steve as well as so, so many others that you touched during your life on this earth. You "are" an incredible man with such compassion and integerity. I'm not quite ready to say " was " because the gifts you touched our earth with will carry over for many years to come . I know your spirit will continue to guide all of the warriors you have helped on their paths . As the animal planet channel is now stating in honor of your life " we will take it from here ". Blessings to your beautiful family as well as your incredible family at your zoo who will carry on all you began.....MourningDove

I also lit a candle for Mr. Steve Irwin. Such a lover of animals, especailly crocs. I can't believe he is actually gone and at such a young age. It makes one ponder one's own mortality. Our lives are but a vapor; here one minute and gone the next. I pray for his wife and kids. I feel for them.

Hi its my first time here, my heart broke as soon as i heard that steve haddied but my thought is at least he died doing what he loved, its will carry on by his children who will take over one day, Rest in peace steve....

as for those are killing singrays please dont do anymore as steve wouldnt dream of killing them as they was proceting itself.....

Just something to think about.

Steve Irwin touched so many as do other celebrities. Not to take away from them in anyway, but we are all unique individuals who touch others everyday. Whether its family, friends or strangers.

Think for a moment how you are impacting the lives of others. How will you be remembered when you are no longer here, but a memory in the heart of of a loved one.
