Hello, hello, hello! Our Lady of the Lost and Found is by a Canadian.  The main character is a "40ish" woman who is successful writer.  She is single and at the point to buy a home on her own.  She's set up her writing "sacred" space to which she goes after coffee  in her kitchen.  One morning she's at her table, if I remember correctly, and she looks around and the Virgin Mary has dropped in.  Mary continues to visit. The author includes a lot of historical early church info, which they speak about.etc...It's funny, poignant, factually accurate.  I loved reading it so much I actually cried when it was over. The book is extremely present..and I still marvel at the journey I was immediately seduced into.  As I write this I think it's time for a reread except it's in my apartment.  Another reason for me to get out to explore the public library a couple of miles away.  Not driving is difficult here in the burbs but I'm searching for bus routes, etc.  Lying Awake takes place in a cloistered nunnery.  Speaking is not permitted.  The nuns are supported by one of their flock who writes popular religious books she experiences when she seizes. This is quite a benefit to the whole group, who make a living breeding bees or something like that. The crux of the book is that the author writes of her visions while she has seizures or some other negative health experience.  Some dr. comes along and offers the possibility of a cure.  What will happen to her ecstatic religious experiences?  What a beautifully written novel, which questions faith on many levels...  If I was conducting a seminar of spiritual fiction, these come to mind.  I have a few others, if these don't work for you. I'm going to look for yr book, at the Library or Barnes and Noble, whichever I visit first.  Jayne
