I just finished a conversation with my sister in law who also like you and I in the past with my grandaughter has the same painof wanting to help her babies without stirring up the adults who may make things harder on the children. A tool I used to help with my worry and anxiety was a prayer for my Dina eg: I would pray for God to help her cope, or send other adults to help her, I would pray for her increased insight and spirituality to understand it was not her issue.....I've shared how Dina has recently been able to visit me on her own after years of seperation....much of what she shares matches these prayers....she talks about how she knew I did not abandon her, she tells me of teachers and coaches she talked to like we used to, she tells me about older adopted grandmas she had....prayer works she tells me how the whole thing made her understand her mom was afraid she loved me more and this understanding helped her get over her anger etc......so when I feel powerless over any of my grandchildre's relationships or my own kids and spouses differant or lack of parenting skills I Pray it works

Jude, sorry I haven't posted in awhile, I feel like I've missed a LOT that's been going on in your life! I'm so sorry for all the turmoil you were having. Chloe sounds like she's trying so hard to get your son's attention, one way or another. Experience probably tells her it's easier to get it by getting him upset, when what she really needs is to know that she is loved. I'm glad she has you for a grandmother and has your example of prayerfulness and peacefulness in response to difficult situations. I'm lighting a candle and praying for you and your family, as always.

Lori, I think you've put your finger right on the problem. I've decided to try and be more in Chloe's life than just as a minder. I think all the turmoil has made me drift away from her, because it's all too much, so now's the time, before it's too late.
