Richard, thank you for this lovely picture!

Here in Chicago they are still blooming thanks to some unusually warm fall days!

Unfortunately, our warm days are few. Those columbines were in our garden in July.

These flowers are especially for anyone celebrating their birthday this month (and for all the rest of us to enjoy).

Capetown South Africa looks inviting. I hope everyone has had a day where they took the time to enjoy something beautiful.

Thankful one, how right you are about beauty always being there to sustain us, if only we look. the picture of Death Valley is fantastic.
Arow, thank you so much for the picture of daffodils. they are out in abundance here at the moment, and I am really enjoying them. On a recent TV programme they went to Holland, where most of our cut flowers come from, and they said that the British buy more yellow flowers than any other colour. I guess they compensate for some our grey days.

Hello my friends,

I had to go without being uplifted by your posts for two days, as I was unable to update my "Anti-Viren-Programm" (this bit of German is easy enough for you to understand ), and had to wait for my neighbor to do it for me. Now I am overwhelmed by the floral beauty you have shared.

Thank you, Thankful One and Arow (welcome to you!)
Jude, when I was in England, I used to be fascinated by the masses of daffodils all over the place! Simply incredible. I had come out of a snowstorm in Austria, and landed shortly afterwards admidst this yellow wonder. Thankful One, I can understand that they are your favorite flower. Yellow is THE uplifting color!

Thankful one

The pics of Death Valley are beautiful, a real testament to how extraordinary our Mother's nature is.  It reminds me of a time when I was working at a small tourist centre in the Flinders' Ranges in South Australia.  The average rainfall is 6" a year, most years less than that.

Most of the year it looks like this:

Then it rains, floods, and 24 hours later the ground is covered with these (Sturt's Desert Pea:
Swainsona formosa)

With Love
Joe

Joe, isn't Mother nature wonderful. We do our best to mess her up, but she just looks after herself.

Here's a fun website for flower lovers:

http://www.procreo.jp/labo/flower_garden.swf

At first you get a black screen.  But you get different things when you (a) click your mouse, (b) hold your mouse key down and move your mouse over the screen, and (c) hold your mouse key down and hold your mouse in one place.  It's fun.  Enjoy!
