Richard, what a special quote. Each religion has so many different facets from which to view spirituality and yet they also have a tremendous amount in common. It's kind of like doing a large puzzle, all the different small pieces eventually can help provide a much better view of the whole that is the Holy One.

Thanks from me, too, Richard. This is a really vital quote. I think, hope, feel, even notice that more and more people are realizing the truth of it. It only takes time.  But as mankind, I think we are on the way.

When i wrote, "There can be many interpretations to that quote, I prefer: " I used underline to emphasize specific word or phrase
such as:

"If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change."

"If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change."

"If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change."

etc, etc.

If you read the emphases into the sentence you catch a slightly different meaning each time. Try underlining other words.

Richard, your point is well taken. Homiletics class used to give one sentence stressing different parts of the sentence to create totally different meanings. It was always amazing how one simple sentence could mean so many different things depending upon where the emphasis was put.

Richard, it also ocurred to me that the spoken emphasis and associated body language can make all the difference in contrast to having the same sentence in print, which is open to interpretation, and may even be misunderstood.

Good point !!  All you can hope for is your speech and your mind to be one with each other and vice versa (old hindu saying found in the Isha Upanishad).  The body language would naturally follow in a balanced individual. How many relationships have failed because of misinterpretations??  With the development of equanimity, awareness of the situation and kindness & compassion for our fellow beings, one need not worry about such things, right!!
