I would like to start this thread and draw your attention to a candle group for all those affected by these extensive wild fires, especially also for the firefighters who work tirelessly to protect people and property. The group's name is fires.

Please, join me in praying and lighting candles for them,

Watching the news coverage of the homes and businesses burning and hearing the interviews of the families who have lost everything is heart wrenching.

I join you Edda in lighting candles and praying for all the victims of these horrible wildfires and pray for special blessings for the firefighters who risk their lives fighting them.

I too share your feelings about our neighbors in California suffering such loss at the flames. I lit a candle in the Reff group but will add one in this new group along with yours. Lolly The hymn you quoted was sang by my mother year after year in our kitchen it was good to be reminded how comforted I was by that hymn I hope others in need will keep the faith and find the comfort.
I will add the following

Edda, Thank you for starting the candle group for the victims of the wild fires. I would not have known how to do it. I keep praying for them, and I am relieved to hear that the fires seem to be under control now.

I have lit a candle in the new candle group today also. Requesting our neighbors in the line of fire to be protected and restored. Happy to hear the winds have shifted and some relief may
be at hand.

Thanks so much for starting this. My sister and her family are in San Diego and we are watching the news closely. They are all alright and their condo is fine. My niece is a grad student at San Diego college and she said everything is fine there. She said the skies are so dark because of all of the smoke and the air quality is bed. They are very thankful that they are fine, but so many people have lost everything.

I pray that the fire fighters are safe and that they are able to put the fires out.
