HI there, I was just reading these messages. This is my first time on the forum page although I often light candles. YOur messages about your son bought me to tears. I cannot imagine your grief as I have never lost a child. I am a 31 year old mum with three children in New Zealand, but I know that you have touched my heart. I have lit a candle for your beautiful boy. I am so sorry for your loss. God bless you and keep you. May you feel the wings of angels surround you and uplift you.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...

but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.

I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.

Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.

Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.

That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,

God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.

As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.

I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.

There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.

And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.

And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.

God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years

because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.

But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.

Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.

But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.

But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.

I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;

but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.

It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...

that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,

then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."

And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,

knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,

just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.

When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;

I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,

remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Hello GF Members,

I haven't been online much the past couple of weeks, but you have all been in my thoughts.

I have just a moment to say, Nikki that is one of the most beautiful poems I have ever read and to Lynn "Friendship doubles the joy and divides the sorrow."

I believe that's why we're here.

Sincerely,
Terry

Dearest Terry and Nikki, I'm not sure how things in life are supposed to work, but today for me has truly been a sad, sad day. Feeling blue and possibly becoming even more depressed. Then I got that beautiful poem from Nikki and the touching note from Terry, and it gives me reason to move forward. I had been thinking of a permanent way to rid myself of this horrible pain but understanding how sad it would be for my family and friends. But some days are just so hard to get thru. I just don't know what to do or how to get thru this, I am so grateful that I don't have to do it alone. Thank you all. Love you and God Bless. Always, Lynn

Dear Lynn,

I'm so sorry your pain is overwhelming your life.

Depression is a terrible hole to be in and a depression where you consider ending the pain is even worse.

I don't know you and I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Robby, but I'm guessing he wouldn't want you to have those kinds of feelings. Have you considered counselling to help you deal with your grief or joining a support group (other than us to help you)?

Perhaps if you tell us what kind of a person Robby was. What his interests were. Did he have an interest that you could continue for him?

I've learned to focus on the solution rather than the problem, so I'm thinking there must be a way to turn the negative energy of your grief into something positive.

Perhaps you could write a letter to him as kind of an answer to Nikki's poem.

I wish for you the inner peace letting go has the ability to bring you.

Sincerely,
Terry

Reply to "Letter from Heaven"

My Dearest Loved one:

I received your Letter from Heaven,

It made the teardrops fall.

But knowing you’re with God above,

Sweet memories, I will recall.

I know that you are with me,

For I feel your presence near.

And if I listen closely,

Your voice I then can hear.

I know you’re watching o’er me,

As you promised you would do.

And when I feel so saddened,

It’s your letter that sees me through.

When I lay in bed at night,

The day’s chores put to flight,

I truly feel your presence,

Like a warm and glowing light.

The rocky roads you mentioned,

And the hills that I must climb;

I’ve done exactly what you said,

By taking one day at a time.

I’ve tried to help others,

Who are in sorrow and in pain.

And now I am contented,

My day was not in vain.

I’ll lend a hand, as you have said

When someone is feeling low.

I’ll pray for them and be here,

‘Till on their way they go.

And when it’s time for me to go,

To join you in heaven high.

My wings I shall spread wide,

To my home up in the sky.

Dear Terry, Thank you for your thoughtfulness. I was in therapy, I may have to go back. This way I can hopefully express my feelings and find a solution. Thanks again for caring. Love you, Lynn

Hello Nicola,
Thank you for your 2nd poem. You are right ... it is beautiful.
I'm happy to share my poems. It has always been my wish that they bring hope to those who need it. I also write "Specialisms." They're affirmations I write specfically for individuals.
Sincerely,
Terry
