Today I received the news that Maija's baby brother was born yesterday, a strapping boy weighing in at nearly at 9 1/2 lbs and measuring 21 inches! His father said that Julius Emanuel is doing splendidly. His mother is still recovering! The parents are delighted and grateful.

For those who are not familiar with this family, little Maija died last December after a long struggle with leukemia. She was their first and only child.

Let's join Julius' parents in giving thanks and lighting some candles in gratitude and for his well-being. They would be able to find them in Maija's candle group which they visit frequently.

Oh, I am so grateful, too, for the good news!

Please, Edda, find out the postal address of Maja´s and Julius´ parents in Austria, so that I can send them a pair of my hand-knitted booties!

I am also grateful that I can see my son is online --- which means he is writing further applications and has not given up!
