Solomon, I'm sure that must be the one. It isn't exactly as I remember it, I think it was from a Buddhist perspective, but it must be from the same source. thank you so much for that. Jude

Thank you all for this broad selection of valuable quotes. Sheila from Oregon, who is spending a year here in Austria and with whom I shared them, appreciated them very much. She especially liked "Jumping for joy is good exercise". (She is 78!) My favorite is Mark Twain´s "The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up". It is in the same vein as Peter Rosegger´s "When you are so unhappy that you think nobody can comfort you, do something good, and you will instantly feel better". I have always found this to be true.

Thank you all for these wonderful quotes. I especially identify with the one by Abraham Lincoln. I believe happiness is a choice not somethng given to us by someone or something. I can choose to be content with and grateful for what I have knowing that everything is gift.

Dearest all of you, there are so many "thank you's" to write but Juliana, dearest, I just laughed out loud when I read this "

Betty, I think I understand perfectly what you mean! Having had experience with a (rather "unredeemed") 4 as well as with the snares of my own stress point, I feel ready for any exchange of ideas, feelings, needs... for the benefit of both of us, and possibly of others as well....

I don't know who wrote that, but I love it, because I know it to be true. Especially the "dream it" part. Many of my dreams, the realistic ones, have come true in my life. R Kelly sings a song called "I Believe I Can Fly" from an animated movie I forget the name of, but that had Michael Jordan in it.  It has similar words in it:  "If I can see it, then I can be it.  If I just believe it, there's nothing to it".  That song has got me through some pretty rough times, and now things are feeling and being better, it's still a boost.

My love to all my Gratefullness family at this special time of year (doesn't matter if you're not a Christian, it's still special).

The song is the theme of the movie Space Jam and is one of my favorites as well. The song "I Believe I Can Fly" is on both YouTube video links below. The first one is watching R. Kelly singing.
