Status: offline 		This Thanksgiving season, we welcome your presence in a worldwide, online candle-lighting vigil to honor the indigenous peoples of the Americas and Hawai’i.  According to tradition, European settlers gave a feast to thank their native neighbors for teaching them to farm in ways appropriate to their shared homeland. Now more than ever, we owe thanks to our first peoples for their cultural ideal of living in harmony with the earth. Please light a candle in gratefulness for their wisdom and in commitment to live a way of beauty, reverence, and simplicity.  
 
In addition to the message you leave with your candle, please feel free to share your thoughts in this forum.

Status: online 		I feel honored to join in lighting candles. I think that the First Peoples of this country do not always receive the respect they deserve. They have to struggle for their holy places to be respected in the same way as our places of worship They have much to teach us about honoring nature in all its dimensions and relate to it in a deep spiritual way.
