Hello,

I would like to start a group for all the people who want to stop smoking.
I think that it is really a good way when you feel like smoking, to take a deep breathe and to light a candle on this site.
There is jet a candle called "nosmo" for this reason.

I am happy if you support this group for no smokers.

That's a great idea! I have never smoked, but I know friends who are unable to stop even though they are quite aware how much they harm themselves and their families. Smokers need all the help they can get including the prayers and candles from those who don't smoke.

wonderful idea, sound of silence.  i'm going to light one there now.

i quit in 2000 and i know how hard it can be, but also how good it feels to feel my body getting healthier without the tobacco.

Thank you, Hildegard and kriann, for joining this group.

I stopped and started once again smoking several times.
I really hope that this time I will be successfull forever.
Everybody knows that it is not easy to stop, but if you do, you will feel very joyfull, healthy and most of all, grateful.
Maybe you like to donate the money you saved for cigarettes for any organisation, which takes care of the life on this planet.

i think smoking is one of those things that we can beat only one day at a time.

i love quit meter (http://www.quitmeter.com).  i'm not using it now, but it was fun keeping up with it the first couple of years.

I support this group, because I feel so strongly about the damage smoking does to both smokers and those exposed to them. I feel especially sad, when I see teenagers standiing around smoking. How can we convince them that it is not "cool" to smoke? They are especially susceptible to becoming lifelong smokers.

What a wonderful idea. Support not condemnation. Extending one's self, not withdrawing. Smokers vs nonsmokers, just another dichotomy set up to alienate people in the name of individual rights and personal health. How wonderful to find an alternative way to address a problem that affects us all.

Lighting a candle and holding it in my prayers...

Hello to all smokers and non-smokers,

please support our group and light a candle for everybody who tries to stop smoking.

The mind says: it´s nonsense to light a cigarette

The feeling says: I don´t want to need it anymore

The body says: Please, don´t hurt me anymore

but the addiction is lighting another cigarette...

It is good of you to move the thread "up" to keep everyone aware of it. I'll continue lighting candles in support of those who try so hard to stop smoking.

I too have been trying to quit for years and years. The longest I went without smoking was 3 months. It's a filthy habit and thank you for you support in helping me to reconsider my reasons for stopping.

i was so moved when i read your posts and those of the others who are now lighting candles for this
intention. i have wholeheartedly joined with you now...this is Day 1 for me. i suppose i will be lighting
many, many candles, and keeping all of you in my heart, sharing the same intentions...a whole self, a whole life, a whole world.

I´m very touched by all your comments and by every candle that burns instead of a cigarette. Thank you for joining this small group.
Let´s help each other to quit smoking for our whole life and don`t worry about falling back. Just light a candle for the next time you quit it.

Love

Marie

Finally I stopped smoking yesterday.
Pleas light candles for everybody who has the courage to quit smoking.
I think exploring the articles and pictures of this web side is a beautyful way to overcome.

I´m happy to say that I reached day seven without cigarettes, alcohol and coffee. Our candle group helped me to go through a hard time.
I think we can be a light for each other.
I´m hopefull that I will quit smoking forever.
Thanks to everybody!
