Yesterday my husband got the result of his cat scan, his tumour has more than haved but the miracle is it is no longer attached to his aorta so now he will have a chance for radiotherapy.Back in O ct we were told he may have 2mths or 2years and the future looked so bleak . We have learnt how many kind people there are. We thank god for each new day and the doctors and nurses who have helped us along the way in our darkest moments.I thank everyone who has sent us messages to help and support us .This is indeed all the best moments in our lives stuck together with hope and love and I just wanted to share this with you all.

Well I haven,t been on here for quite some time so this is an update really for everyone who said prayers and kind messages.Your prayers worked -my husband finished radical radiotherapy on Mach 7th we do not yet know how succesful all the treatment has been but the fact he has had treatment is nothing short of a miracle. His courageous and outlook has been amazing and at times put me to shame when I have seen him struggle even trying to drink when going through the effects of radio. So I am so so thankful for the oncoligists and nurses who use their gifts to help people like us.I am grateful to people on this site who reached out to me through the screen and hung on to me in my blackest moments. So to all of you- Put your left hand over your right shoulder then your right hand over your left shoulder and you have a hug from me to all of you x x x

Marian, Dear, it is so good to read a new post from you; especially one containing such positive news. What a precious gift of Springtime and Easter. It truly sounds like you both are being raised to new life. Anytime one goes through being told that a beloved doesn't have much time to live, it becomes a dark time. There truly is no shame in have tremendous heart hurt because of love. Your constantly being there for your husband took tremendous courage. Thank you for the hug and this is for you (((((((((((((((((((((Marian))))))))))))))))))))))))) and all the courage, perseverance, strength and comfort you have shown. It takes a very special person to go through something like this with one you love so dearly. May you both be blessed abundantly with the new life of the Easter Season.

Marian, I'm so glad you updated us.  I've been thinking of the two of you and hoping all was well, or at least as good as it could be.  Hugs and blessings to both of you.

Well Derek continues to look and feel well and we even managed a holiday to see our son in France. When I reflect back over the last 6mths we could not have anticipated the way any of this would have gone.Derek was so much more courageous than me and said "what will be will be, if it,s my time then there is nothing I can do about it".People say when you have a terminal diagnosis that anger is part of that stage but that anger has never surfaced with him -but then again he has always been very placid. He is so laid back he says "he will be late for his own funeral"I surely hope that is indeed the case. What has touched me has been his attitude and that of others I have met online with cancer the amazing way others reach out to offer comfort despite their own worries.I have a friend who says "each of us are on a journey and each of us have the same inevitable outcome. For each of us the journey is different and if we can reach out and help someone along the way then our journey has a purpose".This friend has incurable cancer and is such an inspiration same as many of you who post here.I send my good wishes to each and everyone on here and know you are in my thoughts.x

Dear Marian,
It's lovely to hear that Derek and you are enjoying your time together. You are indeed on a journey together. I like the quote from your friend very much. I would certainly agree with what it's saying.

I have to say I think you are incredibly couragous too.

Love Jude

Dear Marian,

I join Jude and Edda in expressing my joy that you and your husband are having  precious time together. DerekĀ“s attitude reminds me of that of my husband, who used to talk in a similar manner. It is so reassuring, and it is a reminder to spend the time given wisely. I keep both of you in my prayer.

Juliana

Thank you to everyone of you who replied, strangers when we met but friends across the world now.I have this little quote I love -
There are only two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle
The other is a though everything is a miracle!
I,m working really hard on this thought!

Marian, dear, it is so good to read about Derek's recovery. May Derek's recovery be total and lasting so that you both have many more joyfilled days to spend together. As Marie's poem today so beautifully puts it, one never knows what tomorrow may bring. Your trip to visit your son in France sounds like it was a perfect prescription for both of you. May the blessings of healing and wholeness continue.
