Jessica, it is so good to see you post again. How are you doing and how is the new job going?? I pray that you have often sensed how close Francis is to you and how much he wants to surround your life with the peace that he now has. Thank you for posting the special video. May you be blessed with the all good dreams and may Francis in his continuing love for you help you to bring them to fruition. May you have a peace filled week full of very special little Spirit surprises.

Here are two of my favorite video's.  I have posted them before in different places but thought it might be nice to have them together.  I hope you enjoy them.

Blessings to everyone!  Jessica

I just found this old thread and have unfortunately ignored work I should be doing, so caught up was I. Now I will have to work late to make up the time . . . it is with tears in my eyes and a full heart that I say that it has been well worth it.
I have only just begun to check out the links . . . some of them are no longer functional, including one to Sarah McLachlan's song, Angel. I did a search and found it. Here it is:

To anyone new (like me) to this site, if you look back through these posts, you will laugh and cry and you will feel uplifted by what you see and hear.

Yes, dear Sparrow, that´s how I feel each time I go back on the various threads! It is almost incredible how much experience and wisdom has been collected there over the months.  It is so good to be reminded, not least of what I myself have posted! I see it as an obligation to return to it if I have been distracted on the way! [;)]

Love to you,
Juliana

Dear Sparrow, having read your post I decided to do the same! I couldn't watch any of them when my computer was on dial-up so I have just been catching up with some of them.
One surprise was one of Carl Sagan with a clip from his TV programme "Cosmos" which awakened my enthusiasm for the Cosmos, not having had much interest in it before. (I think it was put on the Forum by accident, as the introduction said it was of a woman and a tiger or something[:D])

It's so sad that this special man died at my age of cancer, although I believe he died of a broken heart because all his lifelong work and passion for space-travel was possibly going to be used to develop a Star-Wars project.

Here is the link again. There are some more pictures after he stops speaking.

Dear Jude . . .
What a treasure, the link to Carl Sagan.
It really does put it all into perspective, doesn't it? What a kind voice he has . . .

Dear Juliana . . .
I guess it's like re-reading a book we haven't picked up for a long time. There is always something new to be taken away upon re-visitation.

Thank you Jude for the Cosmic Link! I have just listened to it, over a shandy. Yes, I know it should be a herb tea, but I had a small tiny shandy, and sat and listened, and marvelled. You know he made a lot of sense. The Cosmos is so amazing. I never was interested in the Cosmic sense of things until recently. Thank you!

Here is a video I'd like to share with you all. It is on You Tube:

I love the drumming and the pictures. (and the man's voice is well, uplifting, too!)
lol.

Thank you for the drumming video Gina, I enjoy drumming too. Do you have one? I don't, but my Son has 2.

Jude

lilsparrow -> RE: Videos which are uplifting... (10/31/2008 8:39:22 AM)

Thank you Gina, for the video link.
I have never done drumming, but love listening to it. When I clicked on your link, I listened . . . there are other suggestions for similar videos, to the right, when you are watching a video. I also watched one of a 73 year old shaman (woman) from Siberia, I think, drumming and dancing.
Just beautiful . . .
There is some really wonderful stuff to be found, isn't there?
I can get lost on youtube for hours if I am not careful.
Another wonderful place to go is TED.com. I posted a link on another thread to a talk given by Jill Bolte Taylor about her experience as a stroke survivor. It was a spiritual journey and utterly fascinating and enlightening. Here it is: www.ted.com/index.php/speakers/jill_bolte_taylor.html
There are many other topics and speakers . . . some funny, some smart, some extremely deep . . .
Thanks again

karebear -> RE: Videos which are uplifting... (11/1/2008 2:39:47 PM)

hello all and I wanted to tell you the video which got me here to this website. I found it on GodTube.com and it is under this link:

http://www.godtube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=74f62117f50990fb45b0

it is Brother David  "A Good Day".........

I am not sure if it has been discussed on the thread but it made me cry with joy last night when I listened to his voice and enjoyed the pretty images on the video. Now I want to hear more from him.

I also seek more friends from here, and I invite PM's from people so I can start friendships here.

thanks for any replies I get. and I am not sure if I am replying the best way to threads, so any advice on how and where to post would be welcomed.

Hildegard -> RE: Videos which are uplifting... (11/1/2008 3:09:57 PM)

Dear Karebear,

I am so glad you found Brother David's video. If you want to know more about him and read some of his writings, go to the gratefulness homepage, scroll to the bottom and click near the lefthand bottom corner on Brother David.

As to posting, you can reply to any post you wish. Don't worry about doing it wrong! By reading the old threads, and there are pages of them, you can get to know the different people here and how they interact. For most of us friendships evolve from there.

Much love, and warm hugs,
Edda

lilsparrow -> RE: Videos which are uplifting... (11/3/2008 8:22:05 AM)

Dear Karebear . . .
The video, like Edda says, is posted on this web site as well.
I watch it almost every day when I visit. It is a wonderful affirmation . . .
Blessings to you . . . have a "Good Day"

Dear Lil SParrow,

thanks for letting me know there are videos on this site because I did not realize there were. I looked under the Brother David heading and found the video clips. Thanks again for the information and for your wishes for a good day! I also wish for you a good day as well. I know I have abundant blessings and I consider finding this warm forum one of them!!! :)

karebear -> RE: Videos which are uplifting... (11/3/2008 10:02:37 AM)

I don't  know if this video has been linked here before, as I have not looked at every post in this thread. But it is so good I believe anyone reading this would be inspired by this story. It is about a father and son, Dick and Rick Hoyt. It is a VERY special bond that they share, and Rick's overcoming what people call disabilities is an amazing story of courage, strength and hope. Please view it if you want to be inspired and amazed.

buttington -> RE: Videos which are uplifting... (11/3/2008 12:02:04 PM)

Karen, thank you for the video link. It was really inspiring. Makes you glad to be alive! Did you notice how alike this Father and Son were?

Jude

karebear -> RE: Videos which are uplifting... (11/3/2008 12:50:15 PM)

Hi Jude, thanks for the reply. yes I did notice how similar the father and son are. I first heard of this story set to a Christian song called I Can Only Imagine by MercyMe. It moved me to tears to see the love the father obviously has for his son. It is so wonderful to see two loved ones so bonded together by a mutual purpose and by their relationship in general. My dad was a fine man and Dick Hoyt reminds me of him in many ways.

So Jude may I pm you? I wanted to get to know you a little.
