Dear Thankful one, your flowers are breathtakingly beautiful. Thank you for posting them for those who have trouble with videos ( I need to switch from dial up!)

You and your concerns are in my prayers,
Much love,  Edda

Thankful one, thank you so much for the beautiful flowers. As Barbara T said, I hope I become 'techie' enough one day to put pictures on here.[:D]

Here's some information for those wanting techie advice on how to put a picture of photograph on the site. Find a photo you like. Right click on the photo. Select copy and left click. Go to the new spot where you want to place the photo. Right click. Select paste and left click. Voila!

Hammered dulcimer and a harp playing this traditional song. Very comforting, beautifully played and relaxing.

The next video is the most amazing guitar duel between Steve Vai and Ralph Maccio (the Karate Kid). This was certainly the highlight of the whole movie Crossroads.

Thankful One!!  Thanks so much for posting all the beautiful flowers and wonderful music.  I used the flowers on your favorite men's songs for my desktop background.  Absolutely gorgeous.  Thanks again.  Jessica

This is a great song that I really like and the video is good too.

It is by Mercy Me - " I Can Only Imagine"

Thankful one, if it does not post correctly please help me out. Maybe instructions for posting a video may be good.

Thanks
Marie

Thankful one,
There must be more to the techie bit than this as I've tried putting pictures on here before without success. Someone said I would have to put it on something like Youtube first. Is that so?

I'm quite happy 'cutting and pasting' but it doesn't work for putting pictures on here.

buttington -> RE: Videos which are uplifting... (1/27/2008 8:04:40 AM)

I'm really sad not to be able to listen to the hammered dulcimer music as it's one of my favourite instruments.[:@] I must get onto Broadband soon!

Marie M. -> RE: Videos which are uplifting... (1/27/2008 8:36:13 AM)

Thankful one, If someone cannot connect to the videos here because of dial up couldn't they just copy the http into the browser or go to You tube and type in the name of the song or singer?
The question just occured to me.

Thanks again for the beautiful flowers and music from you and everyone.

Marie

Hildegard -> RE: Videos which are uplifting... (1/27/2008 9:33:57 AM)

Marie, the problem with dial-up and videos that I experience is that the dial-up is too slow and I get the videos in tiny bits with long periods of reloading in between.

Thanks to all who are sharing videos and even more thanks to everyone who enjoys them. I pray that everyone gets broadband soon.

In the meantime, if you copy down the website and can get to most any public library or have a friend who goes to Starbucks or the like with a laptop to use their computer, you can watch any of the videos there. You might need to ask the librarian if they have a headphone or bring an inexpensive one yourself. Most computers have a jack for just this type of use.

Edda, I'm happy you were able to send flowers. It's great fun, isn't it? One can never have too many flowers! Also, one can never share too much beauty with friends!

Thankful one, of course I can go to the library--------I just never think of it.[:D]

Thank you for all the lovely flowers.

I must admit that Aretha Franklin is and has always been a favorite of mine. Here she sings her song Since You've Been Gone in a nice duet with Bonnie Raitt.

This is a video that has good music with excellent guitar playing. I enjoy all of Neil Young's music.

Marie,
Thanks for the link to Neil Young's song as it was a good song that I certainly remember. It helps to have friends remind us of music we haven't listened to in a while.

This next song has also been an inspiration to me.

George Harrison - MY SWEET LORD

Thankful one -> RE: Videos which are uplifting... (2/5/2008 8:39:40 PM)

The following song "I Did It My Way" is dedicated to everyone who lives their life "my way".
It's done by Elvis "The King" Presley who, in my humble opinion, is one of the all-time great entertainers.

A tribute for the 30th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death

And now the end is near
So I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case of which I'm certain

I've lived a life that's full
I've traveled each and every highway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way

Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exeption

I planned each charted course
Each careful step along the byway
Oh, and more, much more than this
I did it my way

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you know
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall
And did it my way

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fails, my share of losing
And now as tears subside
I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way
Oh, no, no not me
I did it my way

For what is a man, what has he got
If not himself, then he has not
To say the words he truly feels
And not the words he would reveal
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way

Here is one of my all time favorites by Elvis.  Thankful One, after reading your lovely post it reminded me of this song.  Hope you enjoy it. Jessica[;)]

Jessica, Thank you for your last video. How Great Thou Art has always been one of my favorites. OOPS, I guess my age is showing Marie and Thankful one. I am not at all familier with either George Harrison or Niel Young. I did hear it mentioned though that if Elvis were alive he would be 71. That's a frightening thought since he had his first hits while I was beginning high school. Thank you both and Jessica for putting forth so much to share special images, videos and music that you find.[;)][;)][;)]

Can't Help Falling In Love by Elvis Presley

For those who cannot watch videos, I like posting the song lyrics so you can read the thought behind the song and the post.

Can't Help Falling in Love

Wise men say, only fools rush in.
But I can't help falling in love with you.

Wise men say, only fools rush in.
But I can't help falling in love with you
Shall I stay? Would it be a sin?
I can't help falling in love with you

As the river flows surely to the sea
Darling so we go, some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
'Cause I can't help falling in love with you

As the river flows surely to the sea
Darling so we go, some things are meant to be
Take my hand, take my whole life too
'Cause I can't help falling in love with you

I can't help falling in love with you
REPEAT

Georgia on my Mind- Ray Charles

Georgia, Georgia,
The whole day through
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind

I'm say Georgia
Georgia
A song of you
Comes as sweet and clear
As moonlight through the pines

Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you

I said Georgia,
Ooh Georgia, no peace I find
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind

Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you

Georgia,
Georgia,
No peace, no peace I find
Just this old, sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind

I said just an old sweet song,
Keeps Georgia on my mind
