Thanful one,[:D][:D][:D][:D] thank you for a belly-laugh this morning. (6 am your time) Vultures are better seen from the air I think[:D][;)][:D] Condors are particularly so, but not so pretty close-up.

Love Jude

Thankful one, Cat Stevens is one of my all-time great favourites. Moonshadow is one of my favourites too.Thank you for the words. I remember singing the hymn 'Morning has broken' in infant school and fell in love with it, so was thrilled when later on, Cat Stevens sang it. I'm so glad he is singing again as Yusuf.

I won't spoil this short video for you.

Several years ago this woman found a sick, malnourished lion cub in the jungle. She took the cub home and fed him and brought him up until he was too big to keep anymore. Then she made arrangements with a zoo in Colombia to take the lion. Here's a video of what happened when she went to visit him in the zoo for the first time:

Thankful one -> RE: Videos which are uplifting... (3/23/2008 1:00:25 AM)

I find the movie Ella Enchanted a sweet story of overcoming apparently impossible obstacles that has a happy ending. It's a movie that kids love and it has some good music as well. I have watched Ella Enchanted many times and have not got tired of it yet.

Ella Enchanted chapter 1 part1

Ella Enchanted - Never Had a Dream Come True  the song is not from the movie but shows scenes from the movie

Dont go breaking my heart Ella Enchanted

Ella Enchanted - "Somebody to Love"  If you only watch one, this is the best one I think

Ray Lamontagne - Be Here Now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vl3V0dTRDvI

Don't let your mind get weary and confused..
your will be still; don't try.
Don't let your heart get heavy, child;
inside you there's a strength that lies.

Don't let your soul get lonely, child..
it's only time; it will go by.
Don't look for love in faces, places —
it's in you; that's where you'll find kindness.

Be here.. be here now.. be here now..
be.. be here now.. be here now...

Don't lose your faith in me,
and I will try not to lose faith in you.
Don't put your trust in walls,
'cause walls will only crush you when they fall.

Be...be here now... be here now.
Be...be here now...be here now.

Jude,
Try this method and let me know if it works for your dial up connection.

1. Click on the video link.
2. Wait until you see the movie screen come up.
3. You'll see two parallel bars in the lower left hand corner.
4. Click those bars which is the pause button.
5. Go do something else on the computer for a while, maybe several minutes to ten minutes depending on how slow your connection is.
6. Come back and look at the video screen.
7. If the red line at the bottom of the screen coming out of the pause button with a circular grey button is all the way across or even most of the away across to the time clock, you can now watch the movie.
8. Click the triangular play button. When you have successfully clicked it, the button will turn back into the two parallel lines.
9. This should play the movie without the dreaded hiccups.
10. Let me know how this approach works.

Joe,
Thanks for sharing this soft and gentle song. I love it. It's a good meditation for me to get out of my head. I appreciate you sharing this with us. I also like that you share the words which helps me follow the song.

J1937 -> RE: Videos which are uplifting... (3/24/2008 2:09:02 AM)

Joe,
thank you for the lyrics of the song. For the time being I am grateful for them, lacking the time to listen to the music, as I find them most inspiring.

Thank you, Thankful One,
for giving the instructions once more. I had to go to the place where you first posted them, but that´s a long way back. I was wondering whether the hiccups were part of the video! ("Silly me"-Smiley to go in here).

Welcome to the forum, Chandrina! Thank you for the link to this inspiring and comforting video. I had only time to watch part of it, but already saw some of my favorite scripture quotes knit together.
I hope you'll visit often and share with us your experience and wisdom.

Wishing you everything good,
Edda

Thankful one -> RE: Videos which are uplifting... (3/26/2008 11:31:15 PM)

Chandrina,
Thanks for the video link. The music is soft and comforting; the photos are clear, beautiful and meditative; and the Bible quotes are appropriate and well done.

I also want to welcome you to this forum and say I would like to read or watch more of whatever you would like to share here.

Here's a welcoming flower for you.

The next video is six young children playing together and is fun to watch and is cute in how they perform.

This is from the movie Notting Hill (do you know where that town is Jude?)

When You Say Nothing At All - Ronan Keating (Notting Hill)

Julia Roberts says these words:

For June who loved this garden
From Joseph who always sat beside her

Some people do spend their whole lives together
Come and sit with me

It's amazing how you can speak right to my heart
Without saying a word you can light up the dark
Try as I may I can never explain
What I hear when you don't say a thing

The smile on your face let's me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes saying you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me wherever I fall
You say it best, when you say nothing at all

All day long I can hear people talking out loud (oh…)
But when you hold me near (oh, hold me near)
You drown out the crowd (drown out crowd)
Try as they may, they can never defy
What's been said between your heart and mine

The smile on your face let me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes saying you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me wherever I fall
You say it best, when you say nothing at all…oh

Oh, the smile on your face let's I know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes saying you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me wherever I fall
You say it best, when you say nothing at all

You say it best, when you say nothing at all
You say it best, when you say nothing at all
(The smile on your face)
You say it best, when you say nothing at all
(The truth in your eyes)
(The touch of your hand)
You say it best, when you say nothing at all
(Let me know that you need me)
You say it best, when you say nothing at all (nothing at all)
You say it best, when you say nothing at all (nothing at all)
You say it best, when you say nothing at all (nothing at all)

This video uplifts me thinking about No Worries

Hakuna Matata(English)

Hakuna Matata! What a wonderful phrase
Hakuna Matata! Ain't no passing craze
It means no worries for the rest of your days
It's our problem-free philosophy
Hakuna Matata!
Hakuna Matata?
Yeah. It's our motto!
What's a motto?
Nothing. What's a-motto with you?
Those two words will solve all your problems
That's right. Take Pumbaa here
Why, when he was a young warthog...
When I was a young wart hog
Very nice
Thanks
He found his aroma lacked a certain appeal
He could clear the savannah after every meal
I'm a sensitive soul though I seem thick-skinned
And it hurt that my friends never stood downwind
And oh, the shame
He was ashamed
Thought of changin' my name What's in a name?
And I got downhearted How did ya feel?
Everytime that I...
Hey! Pumbaa! Not in front of the kids!
Oh. Sorry
Hakuna Matata! What a wonderful phrase
Hakuna Matata! Ain't no passing craze
It means no worries for the rest of your days
It's our problem-free philosophy
Hakuna Matata!
Hakuna Matata! Hakuna matata!
Hakuna Matata! Hakuna matata!
Hakuna Matata! Hakuna matata!
Hakuna Matata! Hakuna--
It means no worries for the rest of your days
It's our problem-free philosophy
Hakuna Matata!
(Repeats)
I say "Hakuna"
I say "Matata"

Notting Hill, (very funny & good film. My favourite character being the 'over-the-top' Welshman who shares his flat) is in London. I've never been there, but it apparently has a village atmosphere even though it's in the middle of London.
