Jessica, I wasn't able to watch the "Gentle Art of Blessing" video because my PC grinds to a halt with anything too taxing[:@] but I'm wondering if it was from the lovely Pierre Pradavand's book of the same name? A very simple message, but a life changing one.

Hi Jude! No, the blessing video was from the Healing Humanity website.  They have some beautiful videos with pictures from the hubble telescope and inspirational quotes and music.  Awesome videos.  This is simply called Healing Humanity.  Love and Blessings to you.   Jessica

Jessica, dear, thank you for posting such a beautifully prayerful video. May you be blessed as you have blessed ohers.

I don't know if all of you are familiar with James Taylor, but I saw him in concert and love his music.

This is the studio version I like. It’s a classic traveling song.

James Taylor Country Road

This is the studio version I like much better. It’s a great homesick song.

James Taylor Carolina in my Mind

This is the live version that is a little rougher sound quality, but is included for those who like live music.

James Taylor - Carolina in My Mind

This is my favorite vocal version but the video stinks. I find this comforting and like the way it reaches inside me.

You've Got A Friend

The following is the best live version I know.

James Taylor - You've Got a Friend (Beacon Theatre 1998)

Thankful one!  I absolutely love that song.  (You've got a friend)  That is the kind of friend I aspire to be.  Thanks for posting this.

NAMASTE

J1937 -> RE: Videos which are uplifting... (4/19/2008 1:55:21 AM)

Thank you, Jessica, for reminding me to listen to and watch "You´ve got a friend". And thank you, Thankful One, for posting it. It describes beautifully what we here understand by "Freund" and "Freundin".

It has recently been said here that each person should have 5 to 9 friends who you could call in the middle of the night, should there be an emergency. It has just occurred to me that I might count you, my Gratitude friends, among them, as it would be daytime in most of your places and I might just post what´s troubling me! [;)] You couldn´t "come running, knocking on my door" - but we´d be connected spiritually and that would help.

Juliana, that is certainly the case. When I got up in the early hours unable to sleep......there you all were, willing to help[:)]

From time to time there are scientific discoveries which support ideas first written of in spiritual texts. There need not be a division of science and spirituality. Here is an interesting video of how one brain scientist discovered 'Oneness'. I hope you find it touching as I did.

Jessica,
Thanks for reposting this as I LOVE this song.

I listened to this gentle song many times the last time it was shared here as I had never heard it before.

It is like a friend to come back. Thanks very much for the repost.

Yes Thankful One, I love this song too. I find it so comforting.

A footnote. The artist Sarah MacLaughlin is Canadian.  I wonder if she knows how many points are on the Canadian flag.  HEHE[:D]

I personally would like to thank Canada for all the sweet delightful music that they share with the rest of us. Canadians ROCK!

FROM WIKIPEDIA about Canadian music:

From artists like country singer Hank Snow in the 1950s, to the hard rock of bands like Rush and The Guess Who in 1960s and 1970s, to worldwide pop stars like Bryan Adams, Céline Dion, Shania Twain in the 1980s and 1990s, to the promise of the current wave of the Canadian sound typified by performers as diverse as the Arcade Fire, Billy Talent, k-os, Avril Lavigne and Alexisonfire, music has become the country's most successful and well-known contribution to global culture.

P.S. Don't forget Joni Mitchell!

Shania Twain (a personal favorite) has many great songs like these:

Shania Twain - From This Moment On

Shania Twain - You're Still The One: Blue Tint Version

Shania Twain - Forever And For Always: Green Edit Version

SHANIA TWAIN LYRICS

"Forever And For Always"

In your arms I can still feel the way you
want me when you hold me
I can still hear the words you whispered
when you told me
I can stay right here forever in your arms

And there ain't no way--
I'm lettin' you go now
And there ain't no way--
and there ain't not how
I'll never see that day....

[Chorus:]
'Cause I'm keeping you
forever and for always
We will be together all of our day
Wanna wake up every
morning to your sweet face--always

Mmmm, baby
In your heart--I can still hear
a beat for every time you kiss me
And when we're apart,
I know how much you miss me
I can feel your love for me in your heart

And there ain't no way--
I'm lettin' you go now
And there ain't now way--
and there ain't no how
I'll never see that day....

[Repeat Chorus]

(I wanna wake up every morning)

In your eyes--(I can still see
the look of the one) I can still see
the look of the one who really loves me
(I can still feel the way that you want)
The one who wouldn't put anything
else in the world above me
(I can still see love for me) I can
still see love for me in your eyes
(I still see the love)

And there ain't no way--
I'm lettin' you go now
And there ain't no way--
and there ain't no how
I'll never see that day....

[Repeat Chorus (2x)]

I'm keeping you forever and for always
I'm in your arms

Thank you Jessica.  This is one of my most favorite songs by one of my most favorite singers.  I first heard it at a time when I was at rock bottom, and I happened to watch the movie City of Angels on an old black & white TV.
I love the rest of her music as well.

ananda -> RE: Videos which are uplifting... (5/6/2008 12:23:13 AM)

Thankful One, Shania is one of my favorites. Thanks for posting her.

Joe,  glad you enjoyed "In the arms of the Angel". Sarah MacLaughlin has such an incredible voice, she is also another of my favorites.

Here is another one that I like, a bit more upbeat.  I feel uplifted when I listen to it.  Its kind of funny. LOL

Namaste!  Jessica
