I'm going to light a candle and ask God to help me lose weight. I don't want to get sick; Because high blood pressure and diabetes,among other diseases run in my family. I thought about dieting but I won't last. But anyways.I hope God hears my prayers and helps me out. I'm trying to eat more sensibly now and I've been walking outdoors for the past two days. After the cold weather pushes out the way I'm going walk some more.But tomorrow's forecast and the rest of the weeks call for snow,So I'll be exercising indoors. I felt better after those walks!,I sure hope I feel better after I exercise!......

Dear Leanda, I wish you the best and congratulate you on your resolve. You are right, diets don't work. It needs a change of life style, more exercise and healthy eating and lots of moral support. Groups like Weight Watchers are helpful to many.

Leandra - I am also trying very hard to eat healthy and lose some weight. I've been parking far away from the door at work and walking up the steps, instead of taking the elevator. (It's only 6 floors, but I am not as out of breath now as I was a few weeks ago.) I stopped having Diet Pepsi everyday which was a big thing to give up, but I find that water with lemon is really just as good. I find that watching the "The Biggest Loser" gives me ideas for healthy eating and exercise. Good luck to you.

Dear Vicky and Happyface-I to am also trying to get rid of the extra weight. Another place that I have found that has helped me alot is the Dr Phil weight loss program and his web site. It gives tips on exercises and shows how to do some of them. So far I have lost 15 pounds. Hang in there and keep me posted. We all need a cheering squad. Chardy

Leandra & Chardy - how's the weight loss going ? (let's not call it a "diet") I've lost 3 pounds so far. Not much, but I figure a pound or 2 a week is better than any pounds gained. Good luck to both of you. Let me know if you find any good pointers. I've started to make sure I eat breakfast. And more - Protein & fiber & water!! Less carbs

Hi Vicky, 2 pounds is great[:)].My big problem was filling face at night while watching tv. Now I have gotten back into embroidery. I have a tablecloth to do for my neice who is getting married soon. Also, I find that if I eat small meals or snack of vegs during the day with water(I have to add crystal light or something in it) then I am not hungry. One of the big things that I did learn was not to deprive myself of things. That is where the trouble starts. It is better to have a little piece of cake than the whole cake. As of Monday an additional 3 pounds. The treadmill is not my best friend but we are bonding. Keep up the good work and keep me posted.
