Dear Marie, thank you so much for "The Earth Laughs in Flowers." What a really beautiful thought to just "be" with. The doggies made out of mums are priceless. That one needs to be saved for future arrangements. The titles to the pictures are always so very appropriate. Thank you for all your time and effort. You are a very special gift to this forum. May you have a blessed weekend.

Q: What do you call a grumpy cow?

A: Moo-dy

A Bunch of Cows and Bulls

A bunch of cows and bulls are standing in a field. A huge gust of wind comes along and all the cows fall over, but the bulls just stand there, bracing themselves against the gale.

All the cows stand up and go back to their chewing.

Pretty soon, an even stronger wind blows through and all of the cows are knocked to the ground, but the bulls just munch on the grass.

Next, a bona fide tornado comes through and all the cows are knocked clean into the next pasture.

The bulls just say, "Mooo..."

Finally, one of the cows walks up to one of the bulls and says, "Moo? Is that all you can say? How come the wind always knocks us right over and you just stand there?"

"Isn't it obvious?" the bull replies. "We bulls wobble, but we don't fall down."

Ghost Driver

A man stood on the side of the road hitch hiking on a very dark night in the middle of a storm. The night was rolling and no cars passed. The storm was so strong, he could hardly see a few feet ahead of him.

Suddenly he saw a car come towards him and stop. The guy, without thinking about it, got in the car and closed the door to realize that nobody was behind the wheel. The car started slowly. The guy looked at the road and saw a curve coming his way. Scared, he started praying, and begged for his life. He hadn't come out of shock, when just before he hit the curve, a hand appeared through the window and moved the wheel. The guy, paralyzed in terror, watched how the hand appeared every time before a curve.

The guy gathered strength, got out of the car and ran to the nearest town. Wet and in shock, he ran into a cantina and asked for two shots of tequila, and started telling everybody about the horrible experience he went through. A silence enveloped everybody when they realized the guy was crying and wasn't drunk.

About half an hour later, two guys walked into the same cantina, and one said to the other. "Look Joe, that's the character who climbed into the car while we were pushing."

Juliana, much of this applies to the cat we once had. He was a stray who was brought to our compound by girls who thought he belonged to a neighbor who had a brandy-colored tabby. Well, he was not Eddie! He kept returning every day until our neighbor decided to take him to the vet and have him neutered. Then Saturday evening we found cat food and a litterbox in front of our door. Soon, the cat arrived from the vet and we took him in. We called him Buali (Juliana, you know what this means) = Little Boy. He became our treasured and very spoiled companion.

Juliana,
This raised a chuckle

As I write, one of my cats is snuggled down underneath an eiderdown on my bed, and every night he comes inside the bed with me for a cuddle (as close to my chest as it's possible to get, with his nose under my chin) and sometimes stays all night.

When I was married of course, cats were not allowed in the bedroom, let alone on the bed, and I can hear my Mother warning me about "all those germs" if I dared to smuggle my cat upstairs as a child. As far as I know I have never come to any harm because of it.

But, what a life!!!!!!!!!!!! All day and all night asleep.

Jude

Hello Juliana, thank you for the Strict Cat Rules. I was not aware you also were a cat lover. You must have many cats.
I too am a cat lover that has had many over the years, but choose not to have any now because of major allergies. But I do adore how cute they are as I do with all animals, as we all can tell from my postings. Thanks.

God Bless
Marie

Wild horses walking by the mountains video. This is not a funny video, but it is neat to see wild horses out walking and they are not fearful of the car or the people.

Ice Cream For The Soul

Last week I took my children to a restaurant. My six-year-old son asked if he could say grace. As we bowed our heads he said, "God is good. God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if mom gets us ice cream for dessert. And Liberty and justice for all! Amen."

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby, I heard a woman remark, "That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice-cream! Why, I never!

"Hearing this, my son burst into tears and asked me, "Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?" As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table. He winked at my son and said, "I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer." "Really?" my son asked. "Cross my heart."

Then in a theatrical whisper he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), "Too bad she never asks God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes."

Naturally, I bought my kids ice cream at the end of the meal. My son stared at his for a moment and then did something I will remember the rest of my life.

He picked up his sundae and without a word walked over and placed it in front of the woman. With a big smile he told her, "Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes, and my soul is good already.

Marie,
Another great story about the ice cream. Thank you.

I visited with a friend who was dying from cancer in the hospital many years ago.

This lady had been in a downward spiral for weeks and everyone knew the end was near.

She had pretty much stopped eating.

I was surprised that evening when she asked for vanilla ice cream.

Just one scoop please she said.

She very slowly savored the ice cream with a big smile on her face.

Inbetween small bites, she shared with the nurse and me what a great life she had been able to have.

She died later that night with a sweet smile on her face.
