Hello Joe, The spider is just what was needed afer a day of cleaning carpets and resanding the patio. LOL, really it is a good stress reliever, I will come back to it. LOL. Thank you.

Marie

Thankful one -> RE: Laughter and the Positive Effects (5/7/2008 11:40:02 PM)

Joe,
Thanks for the spider. I like how if the spider approaches the legs the animal lifts its legs.

The below is two amazing camel spiders. Their bite can be ferocious.

      Happy Mother's Day
       to all of the Mom's
    and to the Grandma's!

Poems for Mothers

Love You Mom!

Mom's smiles can brighten any moment,
Mom's hugs put joy in all our days,
Mom's love will stay with us forever
and touch our lives in precious ways...
The values you've taught,
the care you've given,
and the wonderful love you've shown,
have enriched my life
in more ways than I can count.
I Love you Mom!

A Mother's Love

There are times when only a Mother's love
Can understand our tears,
Can soothe our disappoints
And calm all of our fears.
There are times when only a Mother's love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we've dreamed about
Quite suddenly is real.
There are times when only a Mother's faith
Can help us on life's way
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.
For a Mother's heart and a Mother's faith
And a Mother's steadfast love
Were fashioned by the Angels
And sent from God above.

Mother...

You filled my days with rainbow lights,
Fairytales and sweet dream nights,
A kiss to wipe away my tears,
Gingerbread to ease my fears.
You gave the gift of life to me
And then in love, you set me free.
I thank you for your tender care,
For deep warm hugs and being there.
I hope that when you think of me
A part of you
You'll always see.

To My Mother

For all the times you gently picked me up,
When I fell down,
For all the times you tied my shoes
And tucked me into bed,
Or needed something
But, put me first instead.
For everything we shared,
The dreams, the laughter,
And the tears,
I love you with a "Special Love"
That deepens every year.

And Grandma's too...

While we honor all our mothers
with words of love and praise.
While we tell about their goodness
and their kind and loving ways.
We should also think of Grandma,
she's a mother too, you see....
For she mothered my dear mother
as my mother mothers me.

Mother's Love
Her love is like
an island in life's ocean,
vast and wide
A peaceful, quiet shelter
From the wind, the rain, the tide.
'Tis bound on the north by Hope,
By Patience on the West,
By tender Counsel on the South
And on the East by Rest.
Above it like a beacon light
Shine Faith, and Truth, and Prayer;
And thro' the changing scenes of life
I find a haven there.

A Mother...

When you're a child she walks before you,
To set an example.
When you're a teenager she walks behind you
To be there should you need her.
When you're an adult she walks beside you
So that as two friends you can enjoy life together..

I Said A Mother's Prayer For You

I said a Mother's Day prayer for you
to thank the Lord above
for blessing me with a lifetime
of your tenderhearted love.
I thanked God for the caring
you've shown me through the years,
for the closeness we've enjoyed
in time of laughter and of tears.
And so, I thank you from the heart
for all you've done for me
and I bless the Lord for giving me
the best mother there could be!

Your Mother Is Always With You...
Your mother is always with you...
She's the whisper of the leaves
as you walk down the street.
She's the smell of bleach
in your freshly laundered socks.
She's the cool hand on your brow
when you're not well.
Your mother lives inside your laughter.
She's crystallized in every tear drop.
She's the place you came from,
your first home...
She's the map you follow
with every step that you take.
She's your first love
and your first heart break...
and nothing on earth can separate you.
Not time, Not space...
Not even death...
will ever separate you
from your mother...
You carry her inside of you...

My Mother Kept A Garden

My Mother kept a garden,
a garden of the heart,
She planted all the good things
that gave my life it's start.
She turned me to the sunshine
and encouraged me to dream,
Fostering and nurturing
the seeds of self-esteem...
And when the winds and rain came,
she protected me enough-
But not too much because she knew
I'd need to stand up strong and tough.
Her constant good example
always taught me right from wrong-
Markers for my pathway
that will last a lifetime long.
I am my Mother's garden.
I am her legacy-
And I hope today she feels the love
reflected back from me.

Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

Today is the tomorrow I worried about yesterday
And today was such a lovely day,
that I wondered why I worried about today yesterday
So today I am not going to worry about tomorrow
There may not be a tomorrow anyway
So today I am going to live as if there is no tomorrow
And I am going to forget about yesterday.

Today is the tomorrow I planned for yesterday
And nearly all my plans for today did not plan out the way I thought they would yesterday
So today I am forgetting about tomorrow and I will plan for today
But not too strenuously
Today I will stop to smell a rose
I will tell a loved one how much I love them
I will stop planning for tomorrow and plan to make today the best day of my life.

Today is the tomorrow I was afraid of yesterday
And today was nothing to be afraid of
So today I will banish fear of the unknown
I will embrace the unknown as a learning experience full of exciting opportunities
Today, unlike yesterday I will not fear tomorrow.

Today is the tomorrow I dreamed about yesterday
And some of the dreams I dreamt about yesterday came true today
So today I am going to continue dreaming about tomorrow
And perhaps more of the dreams I dream today will come true tomorrow.

Today is the tomorrow I set goals for yesterday
And I reached some of those goals today
So today I am going to set slightly higher goals for today and tomorrow
And if tomorrow turns out to be like today
I will certainly reach all of my goals one day!

Imenuff -> RE: Laughter and the Positive Effects (5/21/2008 2:58:52 PM)

Dear Marie, thank you for this very special post. It is particularly poignant today. I was just informed that the 50 year old son of a member of our Secular Order was found dead in bed early this morning. One can only wonder if he had known yesterday about today, would his yesterday have been different. The message of this poetry is so very important. I pray that the following part of the poem come true for you each and every day from now until the time of your move and that after you are in Naples, it continue to come true.
quote:

And some of the dreams I dreamt about yesterday came true today
So today I am going to continue dreaming about tomorrow
And perhaps more of the dreams I dream today will come true tomorrow.
Today is the tomorrow I set goals for yesterday
And I reached some of those goals today
So today I am going to set slightly higher goals for today and tomorrow
And if tomorrow turns out to be like today

May all that you do be specially blessed and may you always sense that you are tenderly, gently held in the palm of the Holy One's hand.

Marie M. -> RE: Laughter and the Positive Effects (5/21/2008 11:39:45 PM)

Betty, my condolences to the family of the friends of yours in the secular order. I will light a candle and keep them in my prayers.

God bless
Marie

Marie M. -> RE: Laughter and the Positive Effects (5/22/2008 12:05:55 AM)

Betty thank you for your kindness and support of this move that may or may not take place. House sales are slow in this area and the foreclosures on the market are numerous which may or may not hurt or help. I pray the move is where I should be, or for direction where to be.

Years after losing my son, and a new start here, in a different area, only later to decide I do not feel I belong here. Anyhow, I believe the move now is inevitable, I cannot go back to where I once was. I am no longer the same, and it would not work for me, even though family is there. That is what is meant by letting go of the past completely.

In my own life,....... Life is short looking back, and the reality it could be our last day, anyone of us. Did we live it as fully as we could have, did we love enough, did we help when we could have, were our words kind. Was forgiveness given despite feeling otherwise. The after effect and recollecting all the "Last" things done leaves me to "try" to live fully, it may be my last, or the last of a family member, relative or an aquaintance. Did I do what was expected from me by the Divine? If not, I can at least try to.....

I have learned so much by the many changes of the past four years. Probably more than a lifetime. Some say, you gain wisdom from this. Maybe. Happiness and almost never having it again, intervention of God to give me strength and happiness in a new capacity. The worst thing has happened. I have evolved to believing, after indescribeable pain, my son is in God's hands, he could not be in a better place, I pray. Life is short. Be happy.

God bless you
Marie

Marie, What a beautiful post! I salute you.

Whatever happens will be the right thing for you. The main thing is that you recognize that you are moving on, and that you need to. Everything takes it's right time.

Lots of Love, Jude

Never to tire, never to grow cold;
to be patient, sympathetic, tender;
to look for the budding flower and the opening heart;
to hope always, like God,
to love always
this is duty.
