Marie,
I'd like to second Jude's comment on your moving post. It was beautiful.

You said,

"In my own life,....... Life is short looking back, and the reality it could be our last day, anyone of us. Did we live it as fully as we could have, did we love enough, did we help when we could have, were our words kind. Was forgiveness given despite feeling otherwise. The after effect and recollecting all the "Last" things done leaves me to "try" to live fully, it may be my last, or the last of a family member, relative or an aquaintance. Did I do what was expected from me by the Divine? If not, I can at least try to....."

I especially truly love this paragraph. While I cannot pretend to understand your situation, the above paragraph

"leaves me to "try" to live fully, ...to do what was expected of me by the divine".

Thank you more than you know for sharing this with us. It personally has great meaning for me.

If you're alone, I'll be your shadow.  If you want to cry, I'll be your shoulder.
If you want a hug, I'll be your pillow.  If you need to be happy, I'll be your smile.
But anytime you need a friend, I'll just be me.

Unwanted Guests

It was at a party and the host was getting worried because there were too many people and not enough refreshments. She was sure that not all of these people had been invited but didn’t know how to tell which ones were the crashers. Then her husband got an idea….

He turned to the crowd of guests and said “Will those who are from the brides side of the family stand up please?” About twenty people stood.

Then he asked ” Will those who are from the groom side of the family stand up as well?” about twenty five people stood up. Then He smiled and said

-
“Will all those who stood please leave,

this is a birthday party”.

Seashore Mystery

A couple lived near the ocean and used to walk the beach a lot. One summer they noticed a girl who was at the beach pretty much every day. She wasn't unusual, nor was the travel bag she carried, except for one thing; She would approach people who were sitting on the beach, glance around, then speak to them.

Generally, the people would respond negatively and she would wander off, but occasionally someone would nod and there would be a quick exchange of money for something she carried in her
bag.

The couple assumed she was doing something possibly illegal and debated calling the cops, but since they didn't know for sure they just continued to watch her.

After a couple of weeks the wife asked, "Honey, have you ever noticed that she only goes up to people with boom boxes and other electronic devices?"

 He hadn't and said so.
Then she said, "Tomorrow I want you to get a towel and our big radio and go lie out on the beach. Then we can find out what she's really doing."

Well, the plan went off without a hitch, and the wife was almost hopping up and down with anticipation when she saw the girl talk to her husband and then leave.

The man walked up the beach and met his wife at the road.

"Well, is she doing something shady?" she asked excitedly."

No, she's not." he said, enjoying this probably more than he should have.

"Well, what is it, then?" his wife fairly shrieked.

The man grinned and said. "Her name is Sally and she's a battery salesperson."

 "Batteries?" cried the wife ............................................

 "Yes" he replied.

"Sally sells C cells by the Seashore."

And now these three remain:
faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.

Marie, the picture of the cat drooling for the fish reminds me of a neighbor's cat who used to sit on a chair by the dining table waiting to be served chicken curry!

Marie, I love the picture of the bird in the midst of the thorns and the choice of title you put with the picture. It is a very special reminder that sometimes the sweetest smelling roses have the largest most painful thorns. The 1 Corinthians is really wonderful. It almost looks like part of Chicago. The animal friend video shows how very possible it is for supposed enemies to care for each other.
Such ingenuity on the part of the husband at the party--a true example of diplomacy!. Thank you for all your efforts. May you be blessed in all that you do and may your sometimes grief and sadness always end in peace filled joy.

Marie, that's a lovely picture of the dog and fawn. The dog looks so gentle.
