J1937 -> RE: CHILDREN´S WISDOM (5/18/2008 2:19:43 PM)

Aki´s memorable quotes are many. To me, he has once more confirmed Marshall Rosenberg´s conviction that it is our nature to contribute to one another´s well-being. I had to find one little chore after the other for Aki. When I thanked him for watering the flowers, he replied, "But I´d love to do something for you all day long!" [:)]

Tonight, when we were talking about his leaving for home tomorrow, I said how much I had enjoyed his staying with me and that I would feel lonely without him.  In a reproachful tone he contered, "But don´t you know that you are NEVER alone?", pointing to the sky . (In German, we have the same word for "sky" and for "heaven" ("Himmel"). [;)]

Thankful one -> RE: CHILDREN´S WISDOM (5/19/2008 12:58:45 AM)

Aki,
Thank you for the reminder that we are never alone!

I appreciate you helping Juliana with all her little chores and with helping her remember to feel blessed with each day she is alive.

Come back and visit Juliana soon.

I look forward to meeting you when I come to Austria.

Here's a picture of an angel for you. I hope you like it.

What strengthens my hope for a better future of mankind is the innate wisdom of children. (We just have to keep it alive!)

Aki (5 1/2) has been with me again, and he keeps surprising me with what he says, revealing his inner world. Walking home along a wooden path, he suddenly asked me," What are the greatest treasures in the world?" When I paused reflecting, he said,"It´s not gold or money". He was surprised as I was still searching for an answer. "But don´t you remember the story of the Angel of the Woods that you read to me? The greatest treasures which he wants to put into the hearts of people are Kindness, Love and Peace!" [;)]

Hi all my friends who have gotten to know my great-nephew Aki (almost 6 by now) and some of his quotes,

Let me share what his Mother has just told me:

After his return from staying with me last time, the family had had no TV; it wasn´t working and they didn´t have it fixed. (This was partly due to my telling them about all the "undigested" stuff from watching which was on his mind and which Aki had told me about...) When his older brother (14) and sister (12) had stated that they could not possibly live without TV, little Aki had, with deep conviction, declared, "Yes, you can! I know by experience! Aunt J. has no TV and I have lived without it for a whole week without missing it!" [:)] He was so proud that, for once, he had experienced something that his older siblings had not. [;)]

Juliana, talk about "out of the mouths of babes." !! I hope Aki keeps that natural wisdom he has.

[:o] want to be a child again, with other parents, in another world...

Thank you, for that story...
Hug you, I.

Isabella Bernardo -> RE: CHILDREN´S WISDOM (11/26/2008 12:55:21 PM)

And things like TV, Games and PC, I would never buy if I had children in this age.
And I am calmy about my daughter, she has kids in this age and she is very, very cautious about it, and she is not standard, unfortunately...

nice, to read it!

love, I.

Juliana, Aki has done it again! He is wise beyond his years. I think something is rubbing off on him, when he stays with you!

Much love,
Edda
