Thank you, Thankful One.

On the "Books" thread, I have just introduced a new book by Joyce Rupp. An experience of hers which she speaks about in the Introduction reminded me of you. She was feeling compassion for a hurting friend, and at the same time experiencing the beauty of nature. "The deer and the fireflies assured me that beauty remains present in the midst of life´s turmoil. That evening the door of my heart provided a passageway to gratitude for enduring beauty and a reminder to trust God´s strength to be there, especially when the harshness of life shows its face".

thank you juliana

i treasure the quote you share

beauty remains present in the midst of life´s turmoil

i am quite aware that demanding times are when we seem to need beauty the most but it is a shame that we apparently need beauty the more other things challenge us all

this is lavendar showing out below, but since i have started looking for beauty i have started to see beauty in the not so traditional simple things like mist in the trees

Hello again you wonderful people. I am unable to post my photos today...technical stuff, but I do have something that I think qualifies as gratefulness for beauty. This would be audial beauty, rather than visual.
It is the music on this page. Just press listen...for all who are in suffering and for all who are healers.

T.O. Thank you for remembering me in absentia and posting the picture of Firenza. The centuries old beauty of it's art, frescoes, majestically sculpted statuary in places like Pizza delle Signoria, set on a canvas wrapped gently in a deep sea of blue with white cotton mountains ever so tenderly floating by, and the sounds of classical street performers echoing and reverberating off all the the ancient buidings and statuary come to rest in the marrow of one’s being seeking a home in the depths of one’s soul. To be gifted thusly is indeed wondrous grace and prayers ascended on wings of angels that such awe inspiring grace-filled beauty may truly surround your life. There are those magnificent challenges even more awe inspiring that Michelangelo's David--his statuary in various stages of completion with various amounts of the block of marble still remaining--people attempting to escape their imprisonment of marble. That one exhibit alone gave food for many hours of journaling. Know that you were held in prayer that soon your "marble employment imprisonment" may fall away and the full potential of all of your giftedness may be shared with a world so much in need. Prayers continue for you and for your roofing safety and that your blossoms of potentiality may soon break forth into full bloom.
NAMASTE!

Dear all,
My roofing job finally came through.

Guess what?

I found out that my body is not as youthful as it once was. I was incredibly sore after doing only a small portion, but grateful to start. I'll do some more today when it cools off. We are expecting rain the next few days so I'll be able to recover again before making another major push.

Thinking of you all and sending you love, gentleness and the ability to rise above all the busyness to see the glory all around us daily.

A beautiful bridge.

Dear T.O. that really is a beautiful bridge!

Isn't it a shock when we discover we can't do what we used to be able to? For me it was finding that, once bent down at the knees I couldn't just get up again without hanging on to something. I couldn't believe it!! It's an excuse to go a little slower.

Love, Jude

T.O. Prayers continue for your safety as you complete the roofing job. Isn't age wonderful??? My sprained knee upon my arrival in Dublin has decided it loves me so much that it is going to hang around for a while. At least I can walk this week without it buckling under completely. Do stay safe as you finish the job. May you have rain every other day to give you a day's break and rest in between the days you are roofing.

Dear O.T., I am glad you've been able to get started on the roofing job. It is physically challenging but your muscles will get used to it and grow stronger. Muscles can be built up at least until you are 80 according to what I just read recently. So you have plenty of time!

Be safe!
Love, Edda

Dear Edda, I hope you are right, as I'm thinking of joining a Gym!  Fed-up with non-working muscles.

Dear Thankful one . . .
Thank you for the beautiful bridge in the mists. Driving on it on such a day must feel like driving through the clouds.
Roofing is HARD work . . . I actually did do some roofing years ago (with help of course), but even back in my 20's it was back-breaking and knee-challenging work...not to mention that I suddenly discovered that I had a fear of heights. I will think of you even as my own poor knees ache while I am outside putting the garden to bed this afternoon.
Blessings to you . . . thank you for making me smile.
with love . . .

Dearest friends,
Yesterday and today we have the first rain in 32 days! We certainly needed it and the roof so far doesn't leak.

As far as growing old, I remember the alternative.

It helps as Jude, Edda and lilsparrow and others say to remember to go slow. This helps me to remember to look around me.

By the way, being on a roof allows me to see above higher than the regular earthly plane. I allow myself to rise above the day to day jive and take a more heavenly viewpoint (not that I am anywhere near being heavenly).

Rain helps me to see familar things in a new way as items that need nourishment as we all do. I remember to nourish those around me and know how much in this crazy world we all need to find some way to nourish our souls. Here's to hoping that all who read this will take even one minute to nourish and "water" their spirits.

Another message that comes gently to me from rain is that all life is in transition to a new growing form. While we are growing we are encased in a fog (this helps take me off the hook for being foggy some days!).

I now stop today and take just a minute to see the world around me with new eyes after it rains and the air is so wonderfully clean.

A blessed day to all and keep up the growing process with a little bounce in your step knowing that I send you joy from this little part of the world to you with great admiration and thanks.
