Dear Thankful one . . .
It seems I've started something with the fog! Thank you for the pictures . . . especially the one of fog in the road . . . that's the part I don't like.
Also, thanks for photographs of "Juliana's" cathedral. Modern architecture does not compare.
I'm glad you are well and on the forum. Your pictures always brighten my day, and I'm sure everyone else's too.
with love . . .

3rd time lucky or not, as the case may be. If lucky, the little town you might see under the hill, is the place I used to live and brought up my children in. Fingers crossed!

Sparrow, thank you for your story from Mash. There is something special about bread. For many Christians Eucharist = Thanksgiving is truly the Bread of Life.

T.O., thank you for the pictures of St. Stephen's Cathedral which is MY cathedral as well. The first interior belongs to another church, though. The second is from the cathedral. The amazing roof has as story. At the end of WWII the cathedral suffered severe damage and the roof burned and caved in. The tiles for the new roof were bought, one by one, by people giving a small donation. They wanted THEIR cathedral restored!

Jude, thank you for the sunny countryside! I remember the weather being much milder than here, lawns still green in winter which surprised me, when I first came to England. Once we even had a picnic in February!

Edda

Beautiful countryside, Jude . . .
it is sort of how I pictured where you live
except that you no longer live there.

Yes Edda, there is something very special about bread and all that it can symbolize. There is nothing like bread made with love.

Thankful one . . . see how you get us going?
with love . . .

I agree that there is something special about bread; there was an old custom in my country
to offer a bread and salt to a guest for welcoming him.

with regards to all,
Buba,Goran`s mom

here is some more serious fog in the blue ridge mountains in virginia and the mountains really do look blue

(i have to keep coming up with something new for all the blue lovers)

i know each of us has some fog at some part of our life where we cannot see where it is we are going, but we must continue to move forward with faith

i actually would like to send some of this bread to everyone on this forum with great love and appreciation for all that we share

i learn and grow from this highly valued experience and hope all of you can experience the beauty of our shared "daily bread" as in "give us this day our daily bread"

i sort of see this forum as all of us collectively breaking bread together

one of the cool things about bread is that it is like life

you can be as creative or mundane about how you make it as you desire

thanks to all for your creativity

down south here, we all eat our fair share of cornbread which i for one love

i love it by itself, slathered with sorghum molasses, with grits, with honey, with baked beans, with garden vegetables, with homemade jelly...
