I do hope that you find all the love and support here that I have. Another thing is that I want to congratulate you on the birth of your daughter. I know that you must be very proud! As far as your hubby is concerned please don't worry about their bond as I do think that it will come in time. We as moms already have our bonds with the babies, as I think that it sometimes takes men some time to come around about things. I also do think that in time when you have to go back to work that it will give your baby and her daddy some alone time to bond together. There is nothing like a bond between a daughter and her daddy. My hubby and I only have 1 daughter and let me tell you, it didn't take her long to capture her daddy's heart. Please take care and keep in touch and let us know how you are doing as well as your baby and her daddy. I will light a candle for your family now. Sending love your way, Joya

Re:a prayer for my little one (J1937)

Dear erlsc (could you please give us a name, which would be easier to spell?),

Being convinced that good relationships are what really counts in life, I hope and trust that the bond between your husband and baby daughter will grow the more they are left together. The mother has been in close contact with her child for nine months before she was born - the father has a learning process before him. So patience and words of affirmation are most helpful.

With my best wishes and love,
Juliana

Re:a prayer for my little one (lilsparrow)

 Dear Erlsc . . .
I am happy that your husband and little daughter are beginning to bond . . .
all in good time.
May it be a bond that only strengthens as time goes on.
Prayers for you and for your new family
with love . . .
sparrow
Re:a prayer for my little one (buttington)

I am grateful to hear the news,

Sending Blessings and Love,
Jude
Re:a prayer for my little one (sandra67)

 Good Morning Erlsc ,

I was happy to read that your little girl is bonding well with her Daddy.Babies have a way of capturing people's hearts espeically their Daddy's.

I am sure your mind must be at peace now.

Take care and best wishes for a bright future for all three of you.

Re:a prayer for my little one (Hildegard)

 Dear Erlsc,

I am glad to hear that your husband is making progress in bonding to your baby!

How are you doing?

Keeping you all in my prayers,

Much love,
Edda
Re:a prayer for my little one (erlsc)

Thank you very much for your prayers.
It certainly helped me knowing that someone else is also praying for me.

Re:a prayer for my little one (erlsc)

 Hi Sandra
Thank you for your prayers. I feel for your concern!
You have already received encouraging and wise words!
Five months old babies usually have the most engaging smile and it is easy to fall in love with them. Has you husband participated in caring for her? If you do things together he may gain confidence. As Sparrow says, he might be afraid of hurting the baby since babiies seem so fragile (more so than they are!). I don't know if you have talked about it together to find out what his difficulty is. Perhaps your pediatrician might be of help!
I might add that new babies take up a lot of a mother's time and energy so that husbands may feel a bit neglected and even jealous of the baby. Some extra TLC for him might also help.

I will light a candle for your daughter, her father and you and mark it ERLSC!

With much love
Edda
Re:a prayer for my little one (lilsparrow)

 Dear Erlsc . . .
I too, would like to welcome you to the forum
and hope you will return
and perhaps tell us a little more about your new daughter . . .
and you too!
I will surely pray for your family
and light a candle,
that your husband and daughter
will begin to form a loving bond . . .
I think that sometimes men are a little frightened
and perhaps intimidated by such a small and fragile bundle
as your daughter is.
I don't know if this is your first child together.
Over time,
especially as your daughter's daytime care
falls into his hands,
he may become more comfortable and confident . . .
and as Sandra has said,
babies come to trust and love
the person who cares for them.
Blessings on you dear,
and on your little new daughter
and your husband as well
with much love . . .
sparrow

Re:a prayer for my little one (Kelly C)

My best wishes and prayers go out to your daughter, to her father, and to you. I'd like to ask you to pray that my husband be granted patience and wisdom to bond with our baby girl who is 5 months now. I am deeply bothered that my baby did not bond with her father and it seems that my husband have given up trying. I worry for my daughter as she will be left in his care when I go to work. Thank you and God Bless..
