Hi Everyone
If its not too much to ask. I'd like to ask you to pray that my husband be granted patience and wisdom to bond with our baby girl who is 5 months now. I am deeply bothered that my baby did not bond with her father and it seems that my husband have given up trying. I worry for my daughter as she will be left in his care when I go to work. Congratulations on the birth of your little girl.I guess it's harder for some men to bond straight
away with their children but over time this will happen please God.
 
I know as  a Mother you are deeply concerned but maybe once you go back to work a stronger
bond between them both will form.
 
From my own experience babies love the people that care for them .

I think that sometimes men are a little frightened
and perhaps intimidated by such a small and fragile bundle

I don't know if this is your first child together.

he may become more comfortable and confident . . .

I'll join the others in welcoming you to the forum! I feel for your concern!
You have already received encouraging and wise words!
Five months old babies usually have the most engaging smile and it is easy to fall in love with them. Has you husband participated in caring for her? If you do things together he may gain confidence. As Sparrow says, he might be afraid of hurting the baby since babiies seem so fragile (more so than they are!). I don't know if you have talked about it together to find out what his difficulty is. Perhaps your pediatrician might be of help!
I might add that new babies take up a lot of a mother's time and energy so that husbands may feel a bit neglected and even jealous of the baby. Some extra TLC for him might also help.

My husband and my baby are making progress, they are slowly making a bond and its so wonderful to see.

Being convinced that good relationships are what really counts in life, I hope and trust that the bond between your husband and baby daughter will grow the more they are left together. The mother has been in close contact with her child for nine months before she was born - the father has a learning process before him. So patience and words of affirmation are most helpful.

Dear Erisc, I first want to welcome you to the forum. I do hope that you find all the love and support here that I have. Another thing is that I want to congratulate you on the birth of your daughter. I know that you must be very proud! As far as your hubby is concerned please don't worry about their bond as I do think that it will come in time. We as moms already have our bonds with the babies, as I think that it sometimes takes men some time to come around about things. I also do think that in time when you have to go back to work that it will give your baby and her daddy some alone time to bond together. There is nothing like a bond between a daughter and her daddy. My hubby and I only have 1 daughter and let me tell you, it didn't take her long to capture her daddy's heart.
